Ladies and Gentlemen, permit me at this juncture to comment on an issue of the escalating debate on public education and religious practice in public educational institutions in Ghana.
The 1992 constitution guarantees the Rights of every citizen to exercise his/her freedom of religion without compulsion. The holy Quran strongly upholds religious freedom and states that “there is no compulsion in religion”
The Holy Bible also states that “each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
I want to, therefore, make a clarion call to all of us, without exception, to await the adjudication of the supreme court on this important constitutional matter.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the issue of attitudinal change occupies a strategic position because of its impact on our efforts at fostering development. I wish to, therefore, make a passionate appeal to the youth to embrace attitudinal and behavioural changes that will increase their capacity to utilize the numerous opportunities for advancement and progress. We should shun negative tendency of drug abuse and addiction, violence and indolence.
At this stage, let me commend the youth of some of our communities for their efforts at rooting out illicit drugs in their communities. I am certain that other Zongo communities would undertake similar exercises to rid our societies of negative anti-social behaviours. The Zongo Development Fund would support communities intending to engage in similar exercises through public education, community sensitization and collaboration.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I wish to thank the organisers of AL Khair Awards for the Award bestowed upon me. I am very grateful for the honour and I pledge to work even harder to justify the confidence reposed in me with this award.
Before I conclude my remarks, I wish to invite the youth in Zongo communities to collaborate, to partner and to associate themselves with the Zongo Development Fund so we can grow, prosper and transform our communities together.

Consequently, I deem it appropriate to say a BIG THANK YOU to the youth in Zongo communities and in Ghana at large for their unprecedented historic support to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The Zongo Development Fund (ZoDF) stands in readiness to partner the AL KHAIR AWARDS Scheme in celebrating human excellence. We will further collaborate with you towards the evolution of the programme into the most prestigious awards scheme for Zongo communities. The ZoDF is mandated to ensure the accelerated development of Zongos in a sustainable, equitable and transparent manner through the funding of educational, health, sanitation and water infrastructure. Additionally, the Fund engages in entrepreneurial support to SMEs, provides grants to indigent students to pursue tertiary education, assists in skills training, and the promotion of culture and tourism in our Zongo communities.
We wish to therefore urge institutions such as the Al Khair Awards Scheme to collaborate effectively with us for the upliftment of the youth in Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Science, Innovation, Engineering and Technology, among other endeavours.

Assalam Alaikum wa Rahamatullahi wa barakatuh
In the Name of Allah, SWT. The Most Beneficent. The Most Merciful.
I wish to begin by expressing sincere gratitude to Allah, SWT, for making it possible for us to gather here tonight to celebrate excellence, hard work, selflessness, and entrepreneurship in our cherished communities.
I wish to also convey my appreciation to the organizers of the Al Khair Awards for the honour of inviting me to participate in this illustrious programme.
I am confident without any equivocation that the future of Zongo communities in Ghana is very bright. The array of outstanding personalities gathered here from business moguls, philanthropists, clerics, entrepreneurs, politicians, civil servants and traditional rulers reaffirms my sincere hope of a bright and prosperous community. That we have gathered here to recognise and to appreciate our leaders whose commitment and devotion drive meaningful change, gladdens my heart even more.
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, it is indubitable that the youth in our communities are rising to the occasion and demonstrating their capacity to assume numerous responsibilities in Ghana. The massive mobilisation orchestrated by the youth which culminated in the mammoth victory of His Excellency President John Mahama and Parliamentary candidates in the 2024 general elections, cannot go unmentioned.
