A rare visual dialogue between form and feeling, Sweet Sisters holds itself as a work of quiet intensity, where emotional depth is rendered through contemporary African abstraction with restraint and clarity.

What unfolds is not simply the encounter of two figures, but a continuation of African visual thought, where stylisation carries truth, and simplicity becomes a vessel for memory, identity, and shared life.

This is a work for collectors who do not simply decorate space, but curate atmosphere, where African storytelling is allowed to breathe slowly over time.

“OPKɔNɔ TSURU JWɛNAMƆ,” translated as “Red Table Reflections, 2024”
Acrylic Paint on Canvas
Size: 47 x 68 cm

This piece distills an intimate African domestic ritual into a quiet scene of care and exchange. The act of offering food is rendered as an unspoken language through which memory, affection, and continuity are held.

The work resists spectacle, instead privileging presence and authenticity. It reflects a lived cultural intelligence where the everyday becomes symbolic, and the table becomes a site of human connection.

A rare and contemplative piece.

Love & Wonder (2025), from the series Magic in the Mundane, distills a fleeting truth; two figures bound in closeness, yet subtly divided by attention. Their gazes drift, revealing love not as stillness, but as a quiet negotiation between presence and distraction.

Rendered with instinct and restraint, the work captures a defining emotional condition of our time, where connection is felt, yet never fully held.

A rare and original piece within Nana Osei’s evolving canon, Love & Wonder rewards both immediacy and foresight in collection.

The language of the woman, expressed in an art form.

At Sitting with the Silence After the Noise, each piece; Adora, Amoura, Mirari, Darlene, Oblayoo, Empyreal, Empyreal Lady, Zayana, emerged as a study of the modern woman: elegant, expressive, and quietly powerful.

Crafted as reflections rather than adornments, these pieces carry stories of grace that is not announced, but understood. Each design holds a moment, of becoming that woman.

These pieces are for the woman who carries elegance as instinct, and not display.

A key highlight from sitting with the silence after the noise was when we sat with and Mr. oduro-Frimpong . Together, the dialogue traced the role of art as both witness and archive: a force that preserves African identity while confronting the realities of our past and present.

For , this was powerfully embodied in his work on Fela Kuti. He spoke of the man, his convictions, his resistance, and the weight of what he chose to stand for. In reflecting on this, Bright revealed a deeper responsibility: that without intentional storytelling through art, histories of such magnitude risk being diminished or lost. His practice, therefore, becomes an act of preservation, ensuring that these legacies remain visible, relevant, and understood.

Mr. Oduro-Frimpong, on the other hand, approaches this preservation through popular culture. As both an artist and a collector, he emphasized the importance of gathering the everyday symbols that define who we are, objects, visuals, and narratives that collectively shape Ghanaian identity. Through his work as Director of the Center for Popular Culture at , he is actively building a living archive that safeguards cultural heritage while making it accessible to future generations.

What emerged from this exchange was clear: art is a deliberate act of remembering, of questioning, and of defining who we are, on our own terms.

From ’s Acrimony, to .is.king’s Opkɔnɔ Tsuru Jwɛŋamɔ (Red Table Reflections), to ’s Sweet Sisters, nineteen(19) carefully curated works of art unfolded in quiet conversations at Sitting with the Silence After the Noise art experience.

Each piece was encountered in stillness, where guests were invited not just to observe, but to feel, to question, and to interpret. Meaning was not given immediately; it was discovered.

Only after this moment of personal connection were the stories revealed, transforming each work from something seen into something deeply understood.

For , collecting has never been about following trends, it is about recognizing significance long before the world catches on.

As the founder of , he joined us at Sitting With the Silence After the Noise for an intimate conversation on the deeper language of collecting, how it quietly shapes culture, influences identity, and leaves a lasting imprint on how we live.

Through a thoughtful exploration of Floral Cocktail and Highlife, Vincent invited us into the storytelling within these works, revealing not just the art itself, but the layered meanings, artists, and intention they carry.
