‎Look at these numbers and then ask yourself: how many of these are not just teenage pregnancies, but the result of child abuse in Ghana?
‎
‎Between 2016-2020, over 555,000 teenagers aged 1019 in Ghana got pregnant.
‎
‎More than 13,000 of them were just 1014 years old.
‎
‎In 2020 alone, there were 109,888 teenage pregnancies according to GHS data.
‎
‎According to Ghana Business News, many teenage pregnancy cases may actually reflect s*xual violence/ defilement, not consensual teenage s*x.
‎
‎These are not just "mistakes" these are children whose innocence was taken.
‎
‎So I Ask You, What About:
‎•the children whose pregnancies were aborted?
‎• the ones on contraception?
‎• those whose abUse never resulted in pregnancy but still suffered?
‎• the boys being molested and silenced?
‎
‎The truth is: abuse is more common in Ghana than we think, and far more hidden. Why isn't this outrage? We must speak up-as parents, as Ghanaians, as human beings.
‎
‎The perpetrators are not strangers. They're in our families. In our communities.
‎
‎It's time we stop sweeping this under the carpet. If we're serious about protecting our children, we must start now.
‎
