Progress that doesn't reach the delivery room isn't progress. πŸ’§

Nurses with no running water.

Midwives unable to wash their hands.

Mothers and babies at preventable risk.

WASH is the foundation. Without it nothing works.

Decisive investment. Now. Time to deliver.

We keep talking about progress. But in many of our health facilities, nurses and midwives still have no running water to wash their hands. πŸ’™

How do we call that development?

WASH β€” clean water, sanitation, and hygiene β€” is the foundation of quality healthcare. Without it, everything else falls short.

Ghana must make a decisive investment. Not next year. Now.

Real progress protects every life. Share this and demand better. πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

No water. No safe birth. No excuse.

Today is World Health Day β€” and across the world, women are still giving birth in healthcare facilities without clean water, basic sanitation, or proper hygiene supplies.

This is not a distant problem. It is happening now.

Leaders, policymakers, health systems, communities β€” all of us have a role to play. Because a healthy world starts before the first breath. And it starts with water.

April is here β€” and with it, renewed energy to champion clean water, sanitation, and hygiene for every person in Ghana and beyond.

As we step into this new month, we remain committed to the communities counting on us. Every drop matters. Every voice counts.

Here's to a month of impact, hope, and action. πŸ’™

Where you live should never decide if you survive childbirth. πŸ’§

But in too many parts of Ghana, health workers are delivering babies with no reliable water. No hygiene. No safe foundation.

This is not acceptable. This is not equitable.

Every woman. Every region. Every facility. Time to deliver. Now.

Getting to a health facility means nothing if the facility cannot keep you safe. πŸ’™

Clean water. Decent Toilets. Good Hygiene. These are not extras β€” they are the foundation of quality care, infection prevention, and basic dignity.

We cannot talk about equitable healthcare and ignore WASH. They are inseparable.

This is basic. This is essential. This is urgent. It is time to deliver. Sign the petition here: https://www.wateraid.org/global/campaigns/time-to-deliver/petition

Every 2 seconds. A birth. No clean water. πŸ’§

WaterAid's new report reveals the crisis inside our delivery rooms β€” and Ghana's numbers are impossible to ignore.

45% of our health facilities have no clean water.
$1.57 billion lost every year to preventable infections.
31,300 lives that could be saved β€” if we just had soap, water, and safe toilets.

A woman in the Upper East Region is 8x less likely to give birth in a facility with water than one in Greater Accra. Same country. Completely different reality.

The fix costs less than $1 per person.
The inaction costs us everything.

It’s time to deliver. ⏰

24/03/2026

The infections are preventable.
The deaths are avoidable.
The solution is clear.
Clean water. Decent toilets. Good hygiene. In every health facility. πŸ’™
If you have influence over how resources are allocated β€” this is your moment. Act now. Every mother and baby is counting on it.
