Did you know?

The INGO Forum Ghana is a coalition of International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) that work together to address critical issues in Ghana and beyond.

This collaborative platform brings together various INGOs to pool resources, share expertise, and coordinate efforts to maximize their impact. The forum focuses on three key areas:

1. Humanitarian Efforts: Members of the Forum play a vital role in responding to emergencies and crises in their respective sectors, providing immediate relief and support to affected communities. This includes disaster response, food security, healthcare, and protection services for vulnerable populations.

2. Long-Term Development Work: Beyond emergency response, we are committed to sustainable development initiatives. Members work on projects aimed at improving education, healthcare, livelihoods, and infrastructure, with a focus on empowering communities to achieve self-reliance and resilience.

3. Policy Advocacy: The Forum also actively engages with government agencies, local organizations, and international bodies to influence policies that promote social justice, equity, and sustainable development. By advocating for policy changes, we aim to create an enabling environment for development and humanitarian work.

Through these efforts, the INGO Forum Ghana strives to create a positive and lasting impact on the lives of people in Ghana, fostering collaboration and innovation to address complex challenges.

World Water Day 2025: Protecting Our Water Bodies from Illegal Mining

This year's theme, Glacier Preservation, highlights the urgent need to safeguard vital freshwater sources globally.

While Ghana has no glaciers, our water bodies are equally critical to life and livelihoods. Rivers like Pra, Ankobra, and Birim are under threat from illegal mining, which pollutes them with mercury and other toxins, jeopardizing clean water access for millions.

Illegal mining, or galamsey, has caused a 75% reduction in clean water supply in some areas. This ecocide risks reversing progress on clean water initiatives and threatens future generations.

On this World Water Day, let’s unite to stop illegal mining and preserve our rivers.

Take Action:
- Advocate for stricter enforcement against illegal mining.
- Support community education on sustainable practices.
- Protect our rivers for a healthier and brighter future.

Together, we can make a difference.
