Preparations for the 4th Edition of the OMJ SoccerFest2026 officially gathered momentum following a successful Teams Registration Workshop organised for finalist teams ahead of the highly anticipated July tournament at Ahwerase.

The workshop, held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 10:00am, brought together representatives and IT officials from all the 16 participating teams for an intensive orientation and practical training session on the newly introduced online registration system designed to manage the competition.

Hosted at the elegant Arrow's Lounge on the scenic Aburi Mountains, the event offered participants a conducive and professional atmosphere for learning and interaction.

The workshop was facilitated by Socalocaโ , the official online and digital partner of the tournament, who led participants through both theoretical presentations and practical hands-on exercises. Team officials were trained on the full registration process, including player data submission, official verification, account setup, squad management and the effective use of the digital platform.

According to the Organizers - OMJ FOUNDATION, the introduction of the online registration system forms part of efforts to improve professionalism, transparency, efficiency and proper tournament administration.

Participants also had the opportunity to test the system in real time under the guidance of facilitators, helping teams gain practical experience ahead of the official registration process.

Tournament organisers revealed that each participating team will register a 30-player squad for the competition.

Representatives present at the workshop commended the organisers for the initiative, describing the training session as timely, educative and a major step forward in modernising the tournament.

The organising committee also expressed appreciation to all participating teams and officials for their commitment, cooperation and active involvement throughout the exercise.

Registration of players and officials has officially commenced and will close on June 15, 2026 midnight, as anticipation continues to build toward another exciting edition of the OMJ SoccerFest in Ahwerase this July.

OMJ Foundation Hydrates BECE Candidates, Head of the Obodan Exam Centre is grateful!

โ€œOthers give other thingsโ€ฆ OMJ gives life, because water is life.โ€ ๐Ÿ’ง

The OMJ Foundation continues to stand with candidates writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) by donating hundreds of bags of sachet water to candidates from 15 schools at the Obodan Examination Centre throughout the entire examination period.

This intervention forms part of the Foundationโ€™s commitment to supporting education, student welfare, and creating a comfortable environment for candidates during their final exams.

In this video, the Head of Centre expresses heartfelt appreciation to the OMJ Foundation for the timely and thoughtful support extended to the candidates and invigilators.

At OMJ Foundation, we believe success begins with care, and even a sachet of water can refresh hope, strength, and confidence.

OMJ Foundation Supports 15 Schoolsโ€™ BECE Candidates with Sachet Water at Obodan Exam Centre

โ€œWater is the driving force of all nature.โ€

The OMJ Foundation has donated hundreds of bags of sachet water to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates writing their final exams at the Obodan Exam Centre, as part of its ongoing boost tour under the Basic Education Certificate Examination Preparation Intervention Project (BECEPIP).

The donation forms part of efforts to ensure the programme delivers its intended impact. During a final round of visits to beneficiary schools, management of the Foundation identified an urgent challengeโ€”a shortage of potable water at the examination centreโ€”which required immediate intervention.

The move follows concerns raised by the head of the centre and supervising teachers, who highlighted the severity of the situation. According to them, many candidatesโ€”particularly those from rural communities who are temporarily camped in classroom hostelsโ€”have been forced to leave the exam premises in search of drinking water.

They explained that such movements disrupt studentsโ€™ concentration during a critical academic period and expose them to avoidable risks, especially female candidates.

In response, the OMJ Foundation swiftly stepped in to provide relief, ensuring that students remain hydrated, safe, and fully focused throughout the examination period. About 15 schools using the Obodan centre are benefiting from the donation, with supplies expected to last until the end of the exams.

Delivering a brief message to the candidates, Dan K. Ntim encouraged them to remain calm and confident.
โ€œThis support is to help you stay refreshed, focused, and safe. Do your best and believe in yourselvesโ€”your future is bright,โ€ he stated.

The initiative underscores the Foundationโ€™s broader commitment to improving learning conditions and supporting student success across underserved communities, particularly within the Akuapem South Municipality.

OMJ Foundation Boosts BECE Prospects in Akuapem South with Transformative Intervention Project

In a bold and timely response to declining academic performance in the Akuapem South Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana, the OMJ Foundation has successfully implemented a four-month intensive intervention project aimed at improving outcomes in the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The initiative, dubbed the Basic Education Certificate Examination Preparation Intervention Project (BECEPIP), targeted five selected basic schools across the municipality: Konkonuru Methodist Basic School, Kitasi M/A Basic School, Anamerampa Basic School, Pakro Anglican Basic School, and Nsakye M/A Basic School. The intervention comes on the back of a worrying 48 percent pass rate recorded in the previous yearโ€™s BECEโ€”well below expectations both municipally and nationally.

Launched in January 2026 as a pilot programme, BECEPIP is designed with a long-term vision of expanding its reach to all 57 basic schools in the Akuapem South Municipality by end of the year 2035.

Under the programme, students benefitted from fully funded extra classesโ€”three sessions daily over a period of four months. The project also covered the printing of learning materials and mock examination papers, introduced modern teaching aids such as projectors, and supported minor infrastructural upgrades to facilitate effective evening studies. In addition, transportation for candidates to and from examination centres was fully sponsored, while National Service personnel who volunteered their time received stipends.

A key highlight of the initiative is its robust scholarship scheme aimed at motivating academic excellence among candidates. Students who attain aggregates between 6 and 15 will receive the prestigious OMJ Full Scholarship for their Senior High School education. Those scoring between aggregates 16 and 20 will benefit from the OMJ Admission Scholarship, which covers all initial entry requirements into SHS. Meanwhile, candidates with aggregates between 21 and 25 will receive the OMJ Ketewa Biaa Nsua Scholarship, including essential boarding items such as mattresses, trunks, and chop boxes.

The intervention also drew on the expertise of retired professionalsโ€”including teachers, educationists, doctors, and lawyersโ€”who volunteered their time to teach and mentor students throughout the programme.

The project officially wrapped up on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Nsakye M/A Basic School with a brief but impactful ceremony attended by school authorities, PTA executives, School Management Committee members, parents, opinion leaders, and members of the public.

Though the Founder and CEO of OMJ Foundation, Mr. Osei Mensah Joseph, was not present in person, his message was delivered by the Foundationโ€™s Manager, Mr. Wisdom Kofi Nartey. In his address, Mr. Osei Mensah commended the commitment of students and urged them to remain focused as they approach the BECE, scheduled to begin on May 4, 2026.

He reaffirmed the Foundationโ€™s unwavering support for dedicated learners and encouraged parents to continue investing in their childrenโ€™s education. He further expressed confidence that with the right leadership and sustained effort, poverty in Akuapem South could be significantly reduced through education.

โ€œBy dint of hard work and resilience, Akuapem South will rise againโ€”and it starts with you, my cherished learners,โ€ his message concluded.

As the candidates prepare to sit for their final examinations, the BECEPIP initiative stands as a beacon of hope and a practical demonstration of how strategic educational interventions can drive meaningful change in underserved communities.
