CoachK Ghana 🇬🇭❤️
Our sports will continue to move in circles until we normalize mass sports participation, especially among children.
We need to get our children moving again. Regular physical activity has important health benefits and can help address the increasingly sedentary lifestyles of many young people.
We also need recreational sports facilities in communities, schools and neighbourhoods, alongside a system that identifies, supports and develops young talent.
Mass participation first. Better facilities next. A stronger pathway for young athletes. That is how we build a sustainable sports system where our children can thrive.
An expensive and good coach at the top may address some problems, but it cannot, on its own, fix a sports system that is weak at the grassroots.
Let’s invest in training and developing grassroots coaches who can work with children from an early age and build the foundation for future talent.
If we keep looking for a single solution at the top while neglecting mass participation, facilities and youth development, we will keep producing the same cycle.
Build the foundation, and then strengthen the top.
