UNVEILING: PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP DEPARTMENT-GHANA TOURISM AUTHORITY
DELIVERED BY: MR. CHARLES ADU-GYAMFI, PRESIDENT OF GHANA TOURISM FEDERATION
Hon. Minister, CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority and other accompanying officials, Distinguished Guests, Industry, Stakeholders, Members of the Press, Ladies and Gentlemen.
Good morning.
It is both an honor and a privilege to stand before you today as we witness a significant milestone in the evolution of our tourism industry-the official unveiling of the Public-Private Partnership Department at the Ghana Tourism Authority.
This initiative is more than just the creation of a new department. It is a strong signal of Ghana’s commitment to annexing the collective strength of Government and the Private Sector actors to drive sustainable growth in tourism. Public Private Collaboration has long been discussed as a necessity-today. We see it taken concrete shape.
As President of the Ghana Tourism Federation, I commend the Ghana Tourism Authority for this bold and timely move. It reflects a clear understanding that no single institution can unlock the full potential of Ghana’s tourism landscape alone. We must walk together, government, private businesses, community stakeholders, and civil society hand in hand with shared responsibility and mutual respect.
The role of the private sector in tourism developments is undeniable. From accommodation and hospitality, to tour operations, transportation, creative arts and events. We provide the services, experiences, and innovations that shape Ghana’s image in the eye of both domestic and international travellers.
We believe that this new Public-Private Partnership Department can be a game changer. It can streamline collaboration, improve policy dialogue and ensure that both Public and Private interest are aligned to promote investment, capacity building, product development and marketing.
But let us be clear. This is just the beginning. What comes next will require commitment, transparency, accountability and trust. I encourage the leadership of the Public-Private Partnership Department to engage openly with all stakeholders, to listen as much as they lead and to ensure that our collective vision is translated into on the ground.
GHATOF stands ready to collaborate fully. We look forward to participating actively in strategy sessions, joint programmes and policy engagement that this department will spearhead.
Together let us build a tourism sector that is inclusive, resilient and competitive. One that not only showcases Ghana to the world but also delivers meaningful jobs and development for our people.
Congratulations to Ghana Tourism Authority on this important step. The journey ahead is exciting and we at GHATOF are proud to be part of it.
Thank you, and may this new chapter bring lasting transformation to our industry.
