Our Story

We in Ghana have relatively low-funded libraries, but there are always needs that cannot be met through our annual budget. That’s where the Friends come in, giving money for designated projects proposed by the library and funded by the Friends. We raise money and we raise our voices to ensure a first-class public library for the people of Ghana. We are what our name implies: a collection of committed, caring individuals who share a common vision of excellent, free public library. Library champions make it possible to increase awareness and advocate the value of libraries across the country and around the world. To learn how you can become a library champion and help Friends of Libraries in Ghana speak up and speak out for libraries, please contact FOLIG.
