On this Day of the Seafarer, WISTA Ghana proudly joins the global maritime community in celebrating and honouring seafarers whose dedication and sacrifices keep international trade moving and economies thriving.

Today, we pay special tribute to the women serving at sea. Despite the unique challenges and risks associated with life onboard vessels, they continue to demonstrate remarkable courage, resilience, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.

President of WISTA Ghana, Stella Cobbah advocates for a maritime industry where women are not only represented but are empowered to thrive, lead, and shape the future of global shipping, logistics, and trade. Their contributions underscore the importance of diversity and inclusion in building a stronger, more innovative, and sustainable maritime sector.

On this special day, we salute all seafarers, and particularly our female seafarers, for their unwavering dedication, sacrifices, and invaluable role in connecting the world through trade.

When women leaders and stakeholders meet, it is a time to empower, network and build on a solid foundation, these and many important initiatives and decisions were mapped out at this year lnternational day for women in Maritime.

Marking the day, it inspired more women and the message was clear, to do exploits in our various fields of endeavour and in every facet of life.

The Chairperson, Mrs. Regina Boateng, General Manager of Racing Link Express Ltd, captured it perfectly: “Let us commit to action.”

The Special Guest Speaker, Mrs. Linda Vasnani, Chief Operating officer of Consolidated Shipping Agencies speaking on the theme also re-emphasised that women must lived the practice well in an organization

The day also reflected and renewed their commitment to advancing gender equality and excellence within the maritime industry.

Together, we continue to break barriers, inspire change, and shape the future of maritime.
