The Executive Director of Rare Disease Ghana Initiative proudly participated in the Rare Disease International Membership Meeting held in Nairobi, Kenya.

The meeting strengthen collaboration and also help discuss various strategies to improve the lives of people living with rare diseases. It provided an opportunity to contribute to global conversations on advocacy, policy, research and equitable access to diagnosis, treatment and care.

At Rare Disease Ghana Initiative, we remain committed to representing the voices of people living with rare diseases in Ghana while building strong international partnerships that advance our mission.
Together, we can create a future where no one living with a rare disease is left behind.

As part of our School Activation Events to commemorate Rare Disease Month, pupils from Lodeys Kinderkloud expressed their understanding of rare diseases through beautiful and thoughtful paintings.
Art has a powerful way of telling stories, and these young minds used their creativity to highlight awareness, empathy, and support for people living with rare diseases.

As part of their activities to commemorate Rare Disease Month this February, International Community School which was part of the schools we engaged during our School activation events took the initiative to conduct an unannounced interview with both students and teachers about rare diseases.

Some got the answers right, others were unsure but every response highlights something important; the need for continued awareness and education about rare diseases.

We are encouraged to see schools actively keeping the conversation going and helping to spread knowledge within their communities.

Independence reminds us that true national progress must be inclusive. A stronger Ghana is one where every individual, including those living with rare diseases, has access to awareness, timely diagnosis, quality care, and support.
