Today marks the official kickoff of the GHBISE 2026 Pre-Conference Training at the University of Ghana

We are pleased to announce Dr. Yussif Sulemana, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Energy & Green Transitions, and Technical & Commercial Lead for the Second Gas Processing Plant- GPP II at the Ministry as a Speaker for GHBISE 2026

Dr. Sulemana is an Energy Management Strategist and a seasoned global energy expert with over 20+ years’ experience in the Energy industry encapsulating the Upstream, Mid-stream and Downstream areas covering (Petroleum & Power) & Alternative Energy. Specialized in oil & gas production, oil refinery process systems optimization and systematic troubleshooting.

Dr. Sulemana, before his current role at the MoE > as Technical Advisor to the Minister and the Technical Lead for the Second Gas Processing Plant (GPPII) was the immediate past MD of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR).

He had been an active industry player and worked with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) as a Snr. Oil & Gas Production Operations Specialist in the Sultanate of Oman. Before PDO, he had worked briefly with Genser Energy as a Project Manager for the Gasification section of the Chirano Project.

Dr Sulemana holds a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Energy Management from USA, MSc. in International Management in Oil & Gas from UK, and a BSc. in Chemical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi KNUST-Ghana.

Dr Sulemana has a high sense of integrity and committed to building and leading high-performance teams, nurturing a culture of continuous improvement, and driving professional development.

He is an ardent energy advocate, and a subject matter expect in energy business in almost all the top media outlets in Ghana and was consequently adjudged the energy advocate of the year in the 2024 edition of Ghana Energy Awards ceremony.

Key Achievements as a Visionary Leader & CEO of the year (PETROLEUM) Awards

Dr. Sulemana upon assumption as the CEO of TOR in January 2025 brought a renewed hope back to TOR and championed a transformative agenda that brought the company back to a path of enhanced cash flow. Dr. Sulemana innovative foresight took the refinery through a strategy called sweating the assets.

And before the end of the First Quarter managed to increase the TOR’S monthly revenue by more than a 150% to $3 million, a feat that was phenomenal and never been experienced in the refinery for the last decade.
Dr. Sulemana following his reassignment to the Ministry of Energy & Green Transition in May 2025 to support the Minister as his Lead Technical Advisor and a focal point for the construction of the second gas processing plant – GPP2 has work tirelessly in this role, culminating into a resilient power and petroleum sectors till date.

We are pleased to announce Ing. Gilbert Asase BSc MSc PMP, Co-owner and CEO of Gecric Asset Integrity Management Ltd as a Speaker for GHBISE 2026

Gilbert embodies core attributes such as integrity, professionalism, innovation and versatility. His leadership and exemplary oversight have been crucial in positioning Gecric Integrity as the leading advanced inspections solution provider, ensuring the continuous safe operation of clients’ assets in Ghana and the world at large.

Gilbert Kwasi Asase, throughout his leadership, has ensured the strict adherence to international standards and practices, resulting in accreditations from prestigious entities such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO 90001, 14000, 45000), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and membership of International Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA), Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) and the Drop Object Prevention Scheme (DROPS). He spearheaded Gecric Integrity’s expansion to provide asset
integrity management services to the Marine, Mining and Power market segments as well as entry into multiple African markets such as Togo, Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

Gilbert Kwasi Asase was a key member of the Local Content Strategy Committee responsible for reviewing and advising on procurement strategy for optimum local content development in Ghana. He was also the engineering lead on the Upstream Value Chain Committee, whose work led to the creation of a category of goods and services, that would progressively be localized based on market demands to match the competence of indigenous Ghanaian companies.

He has demonstrated multi-disciplinary experience in the Oil and Gas industry from working at the Petroleum Commission, Aker Energy Ghana to managing Gecric Asset Integrity Management Ltd. In his role as a Petroleum Engineer at Petroleum Commission, he provided Petro-technical support and advice in reviewing Plans of Development and Operation (PDO) for oil fields in Ghana.

He was the Local Content Manager at Aker Energy Ghana, where he coordinated and advised on the development and implementation of Local Content strategic objectives in Aker Energy’s offshore Pecan development project in Ghana.

Gilbert Kwasi Asase is the owner and Managing Director of BTMI Ltd, where he provides bespoke consultancy services to firms on business development strategies as well as processes and workforce development to meet upstream oil and gas industry requirements.

Gilbert Kwasi Asase is a certified Project Manager (PMP), holds an MSc
Certificate in Oil and Gas Engineering and a BSc Certificate in Chemical
Engineering from the University of Aberdeen and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) respectively.
