LAFA Foundation in collaboration with Dorothy’s Hope Foundation, warmly invites you to an inspiring evening dedicated to art, healing and community.

This special gathering celebrates the courage of breast cancer survivors who, guided by our art-therapy facilitators, have translated their personal journeys onto canvas. Each piece tells a story of strength, vulnerability and renewed hope. These artworks will be presented and auctioned on the night.

Proceeds from the auction will directly support LAFA’s art-therapy programmes for autistic persons, cancer survivors and patients. Additionally, contributions will aid Dorothy’s Hope Foundation in completing their Screening Container Project, an initiative designed to bring accessible cancer detection services to communities most in need.

We would be honoured to have your presence as we celebrate art, resilience and the shared responsibility of uplifting those who need it most.

Date: 16 May 2026
Venue: LA Foundation for the Arts, Ground Floor, Suncity Hotel, 144 La Road, Accra
Time : 6PM – 10PM

Last week, Miss Clarissa Akpakpo and our founder, Ms. Dorothy Amuah , visited the pediatric cancer ward at Accra Ridge Hospital. They met with Dr. Nihad Salifu, Head Oncologist, and Dr. Samira to discuss the needs of the brave children battling cancer.

They made donations to support the cancer patients and also contributed to other individuals by paying bills for some patients. The visit was a reminder that no child should be deprived of medical care.

We're grateful for their kindness and generosity!🙏

CARING FOR OUR HEALTH IS THE GREATEST CELEBRATION!

Dorothy’s Hope Foundation is proud to participate in this year’s community festival in Gomoa, bringing health awareness and support directly to the people. As part of our outreach, the foundation will offer free health screening services to festival attendees, creating an opportunity for individuals to check their health status and receive guidance on early detection and prevention.

Our presence at the festival reflects our ongoing commitment to community wellness, education, and accessible healthcare. By providing these screenings in a welcoming community setting, we hope to encourage more people to prioritize their health and seek early medical attention when needed.

Through initiatives like this, Dorothy’s Hope Foundation continues to stand with communities—promoting healthier lives, raising awareness, and ensuring that vital health services reach those who need them most.

To give is to gain — every act of care plants the seed of healing, hope, and life.

On International Women’s Day, we honor the extraordinary women whose courage shines brightest in life’s hardest battles.

We celebrate the women fighting for survival — those facing illness with quiet strength, unbreakable faith, and a resilience that inspires everyone around them. Even in pain and uncertainty, they rise each day with hope, proving that true strength is not the absence of struggle, but the courage to keep going.

Today we also honor the compassionate hands that stand beside them — the nurses, doctors, caregivers, and health workers who give their skill, patience, and humanity to help others heal. Their care turns fear into comfort and darkness into possibility.

To every woman fighting, and every caregiver standing beside her: your strength, your compassion, and your resilience remind the world that even in the most difficult moments, hope still lives.
