Last Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting a team from West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) at our Accra office, including Charles Kojo Vandyck, Charles Mbugri Azemse, and Joyce Mensah, as part of the Capacity Strengthening Programme for CSOs in the biodiversity sector.

During the visit, we had insightful discussions on the strides our organization has made in key areas such as Organisational Leadership and Governance, Resource Mobilization, Financial Management, and more.

We also took the opportunity to reflect on the successes we’ve achieved through our previous engagements, as well as share the challenges we're currently facing in implementing some of the strategies we've learned from the capacity-building sessions.

A big thank you to West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) for their continued support and investment in our organization. Their commitment to strengthening our capacity empowers us to create a more sustainable impact—protecting ecosystems, supporting communities, and contributing to a greener future for all.

Last week marked a significant and impactful series of engagements for Agrointroductions Ghana as we deepened our collaboration with our partner, Terraformation , who also celebrated an important milestone.

Our week began on Monday, March 23rd, with a strategic meeting involving Terraformation’s leadership, including Jad Daley (President), Damien Kuhn (VP, Forestry Partnerships), Dr. Eric Twum, FISEP, CEnv (Country Representative), Annie Frances Thompson (Communities Partnerships & Land Strategy) and Michelle Johnson Cobb (Marketing & Communications), who joined us the following day. We were pleased to formally welcome the team and engage in productive discussions on building a strong partnership for our shared vision and goals for the Keta Blue Carbon Project, and the strategic pathways and operational readiness to achieve impactful outcomes for the project communities, livelihoods, land rights and tenure security.

On Tuesday, March 24th, we successfully convened our maiden Group Project Management Committee (GPMC) meeting for the Keta Blue Carbon Project. This session brought together our key partners Terraformation, Regenerative Development of Anlo Wetlands (ReDAW) and Agrointroductions Ghana, to align on priorities and define the way forward under our collaborative agreement.

Wednesday saw us participate in a Courtesy Visit and Mangrove Roundtable Discussion at the University of Ghana. The engagement focused on strengthening science-grounded partnerships, innovation, and the application of digital solutions in mangrove restoration. We were honoured to be received by the School of Biological Sciences and the Department of Marine and Fisheries Sciences, with Andrews Agyekumhene (PhD) leading insightful discussions on the science underpinning mangrove restoration for the project.

On Thursday, March 25th, we joined our partners for a high-level meeting with the leadership of the Forestry Commission Ghana, including the Board Chairman, Chief Executive (CE) and Division Heads. This important engagement reaffirmed our shared commitments, reviewed ongoing collaborations, and identified areas for deeper strategic alignment to support efficient implementation and scaling of the Keta Blue Carbon Project. The meeting culminated in the official signing of the Partnership Agreement, alongside the issuance of the Ghana Forestry Commission Ghana’s Letter of No Objection.

It has truly been an inspiring journey so far with Terraformation, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to them on this remarkable milestone.

At Agrointroductions Ghana, we remain committed to empowering local communities to lead the restoration of vital mangrove ecosystems—reviving fisheries, strengthening climate resilience, and improving livelihoods for those who depend on these natural resources.

“One of the most undervalued assets in the world…
They generate 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 every day.
We just don’t count it.”

On this 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀, that message feels especially true.

Every day, forests regulate climate, protect watersheds, sustain biodiversity, and support millions of livelihoods.

Yet much of this contribution remains invisible in the way we measure growth and prosperity.

What we don’t count, we often fail to protect and what we fail to protect, we risk losing.

At Agrointroductions Ghana, we work at the intersection of restoration and economic value. Where forests are recognized as productive assets through sustainable land use and carbon markets.

If forests are generating value daily, then the real task ahead is simple, but urgent:
to make that value visible, measurable, and investable.

Building on our recent outreach under the 𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗦 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, Agrointroductions Ghana (AiG) continued its environmental education engagement, with pupils of 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹.

As part of our ongoing collaboration with our government partners, we deepened conversations on wildlife conservation, environmental protection, and the everyday choices that promote sustainability.

The pupils’ enthusiasm and thoughtful participation reaffirm our belief that empowering young minds is key to strengthening environmental stewardship.

Happy World Pangolin Day.

At Agrointroductions Ghana, we value biodiversity and are proud to contribute to scaling up pangolin conservation in Ghana.

In partnership with A Rocha Ghana, The Rufford Foundation, and Taronga Conservation Society Australia, we recently engaged students of Kibi State Primary and JHS at Kyebi in the Eastern Region in an interactive session on why pangolins matter and the threats they face.

From illegal wildlife trade to habitat loss, pangolins remain one of the most trafficked mammals in the world. Educating young people is a vital step toward protecting them and preserving biodiversity.

Protecting pangolins is protecting biodiversity. Join us save the Pangolins now.

Kindly reshare to create awareness.
