Six months came by faster than expected. Our YESS girls left the shores of Ghana today. 🇬🇭✈️

From learning and unlearning to discovery, hard work, self-development, friendship and sisterhood, your time in Ghana has been a journey of becoming confident, compassionate and active global citizens.

🌍A beautiful ending to an unforgettable chapter.🇬🇭

On Friday, we had our send-off celebration with the Ghana Girl Guides Association, the Member Organisation that welcomed, hosted and supported us throughout our YESS exchange.

As we prepare to leave Ghana, we are filled with so much gratitude for the experiences, lessons, friendships, laughter and memories we have created along the way. 🥹

From the work we came to do, to the little moments in between, Ghana became more than just a host country it became a place where we grew, challenged ourselves and found sisterhood.

A heartfelt thank you to Ghana Girl Guides Association for opening your doors to us, supporting our journey and making us feel at home. 🇬🇭💚

We may be saying goodbye to Ghana, but the memories and connections we made here will travel with us wherever we go.

Until we meet again, Ghana. 🇬🇭✨

From the YESS exchange to the radio waves! 🎙️💚

What an incredible experience being on YFM to talk about our YESS exchange journey and what the YESS Girls’ Movement means to us!

We had the opportunity to share our experiences, the work we have done, the lessons we have learned, the challenges we have navigated and, most importantly, the impact this exchange has had on us as young women.

Being able to sit behind the microphone and tell our story was such a special moment. From school engagements and girls’ empowerment to STEM, menstrual health, environmental action and leadership, there was so much to reflect on. 🌍✨

It was more than a radio presentation it was an opportunity to amplify our voices and share the YESS story beyond the spaces we work in every day.

A huge thank you to YFM for giving us the platform and to everyone who continues to support the YESS Girls’ Movement. 💚

Our voices matter. Our stories matter. And young women belong in every space where decisions, conversations and change are happening. 🎙️✨

From Targets to Impact. From Volunteers to Changemakers. 🌍✨

Six months. Four countries. One incredible journey. 💚

Our YESS exchange was never just about completing activities or reaching numbers—it was about the girls we met, the stories we shared, the skills we gained, and the lives we touched along the way.

From STEM and menstrual health to environmental action, Her Sanctuary, school engagements, advocacy and media, every experience challenged us to step outside our comfort zones and grow.

There were language barriers, cultural differences, busy days and unexpected challenges—but through teamwork, adaptability and sisterhood, we kept moving forward. 🤝🏽

Behind every number was a girl. Behind every activity was a story. And behind every achievement was a team that believed Yes! Girls Can. 💫

We came to Ghana to contribute, but we are leaving with so much more—new skills, new friendships, new perspectives and a renewed commitment to creating opportunities for girls and young women.

This is our YESS story.
This is sisterhood. This is impact. This is YESS. 💚🌍

From learning to practicing to becoming an expert and finally creating business .This is my journey of how a single stitch turned into a beautiful item .

I got inspired by different tiktokers who showcased different items and I told myself if they can do it why not me

Given the opportunity like PDVP ,I choose to start a journey of crocheting🧶. Every stitch was hard😰 but with practice ,it became easy and I finally got a hung of it.

Am not just going to sit on the skills I learnt, I am going to teach more people and as well start up a small business for myself and earn some money 💸

My PDVP: Learning how to Play Guitar 🎸✨

I choose for my PDVP to learn how to play guitar,a new skill I chose to explore and challenge myself with. 💙

Through this journey, I learned the basics of playing the guitar, how to hold and tune it, play chords, and practice consistently. I also learned that learning something new takes patience, discipline, and confidence.

I chose guitar because I wanted to discover a new passion, step out of my comfort zone, and challenge myself to learn something I had never done before. 🎶

I’m grateful to YESS for giving me the opportunity and support to learn a new skill. This journey has reminded me that it’s never too late to start something new. 💙✨

From Learning to Earning🌸☘️

As part of Personal development Vocational Program, I learned professional braiding: knotless, cornrows, flat twists, clean parting, and others..✨

Apart from that, I learned discipline, patience, and confidence.🤎

Now I have income security, and I will never be stranded.
One day I will own my own salon and employ other girls and young women, and youth in general💝

Personal Development Vocational Program (PDVP) 🧵✨

One of the things I love about this exchange is that learning didn’t stop when our programme activities ended.

During my free time, I took part in the Personal Development Vocational Program (PDVP), where I had the opportunity to learn tailoring and design.

From learning the basics to creating with my own hands, this has been such a rewarding experience. 🥹❤️

I’m excited to take these skills back home to Malawi and, hopefully, start creating cute and practical items for girls while continuing to grow my skills.

Sometimes, an exchange is not only about the places you visit or the people you meet it’s also about the skills you gain and what you choose to do with them afterwards.

I can’t wait to see where this new skill takes me! 🧵🌍✨
