The headlines are ready: 20-year-old Caleb Yirenkyi secured a late win for the Black Stars. Congratulations!
But I watched how Thomas-Asante held the ball down, dribbled past our opponents, and safely passed the ball over to Caleb to score.
Life is just like that. Sometimes the hard work is done by others just so your name can be lifted.
Most people who are being celebrated today had people in the background who held things down for them.
Looking closely, both of them were close to the goalpost around the 95th minute. Why didn't Thomas-Asante strive to score from where he was? It would have been a plus for him. But he understood that Caleb's win was our win.
As we journey through life, may the Lord bless us with people:
Who won't block us from winning.
Who will consider our win as theirs.
Who will not be threatened because our names will make the headlines.
There is nothing more spectacular in life than having people who genuinely want you to win.
