New ARUA partnership 🌍🤝🇮🇹

ARUA and the Università degli Studi di Padova have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen equitable research collaboration and expand opportunities for PhD training across Africa.

At the same event, Padova signed the for Transformative Research Collaborations – reinforcing a shared commitment to fair, impact‑driven Africa–Europe research.

The African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) joined university leaders, policymakers, higher education networks, and international development partners in Nairobi, Kenya, for the IMPACT HE Leadership and Stakeholder Forum held from 6–7 May 2026.

Convened under the IMPACT HE initiative, the forum provided an important platform for discussions on the societal impact of higher education cooperation, equitable global partnerships, African research leadership, and the role of universities in driving sustainable development.

ARUA joined partners in Nairobi to validate the CB‑SITS Africa platform and plan how it will track the impact of African research and capacity‑building programmes.
