Happy Workers’ Day!

Today, we celebrate the resilience, dedication, and impact of every worker shaping our communities and driving national development.

At FAWE Ghana, we recognize that empowering girls and women through education is not just a mission. It is a strategic investment in a stronger, more inclusive workforce. Every educated girl becomes a catalyst for progress, innovation, and sustainable change.

As we honour the workforce today, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing gender equality, creating opportunities, and building a future where every girl can thrive, lead, and contribute meaningfully to society.

One Week Later: From Dialogue to Direction 💡

It has been a week since we successfully concluded the Popularization of the GRP4TVET Training at Sunlodge Hotel, Tesano—and the momentum remains strong.

Over the course of the training, stakeholders across the TVET ecosystem engaged in critical conversations, practical learning, and strategic alignment on advancing gender-responsive approaches within TVET delivery in Ghana. From insightful presentations to dynamic panel discussions and peer learning exchanges, one message stood out clearly: inclusive and quality TVET is a shared responsibility.

The GRP4TVET Toolkit continues to stand as a transformative framework—one that, if effectively scaled through collaboration, has the potential to reshape opportunities for all, especially young women and marginalized groups.

We are energized by the commitments made, the partnerships strengthened, and the collective vision to move from policy to practice.

Deepening the Conversation on Gender-Responsive TVET 💡

We have successfully concluded an insightful session on Understanding GRP4TVET and Its Relevance as part of the ongoing Popularization of the GRP4TVET Training.

🔷️TVET delivery and inclusion at the pre-tertiary level, presented by Wilma Titus-Glover, Principal Programme Officer for Inclusive Education and Gender Desk Officer at the Ministry of Education

🔷️An introduction to the GRP4TVET model, led by Dora Mochiah, Program Officer at FAWE Ghana

Together, these presentations provided a comprehensive perspective on the structural barriers, opportunities for inclusion, and practical frameworks needed to advance gender-responsive TVET systems in Ghana.

Setting the Tone for Impactful Change 🚀

The first component of today’s Popularization of the GRP4TVET Training at Sunlodge Hotel, Tesano, laid a solid foundation for meaningful engagement and collaboration.

The session opened with a warm welcome address, followed by a clear articulation of the purpose of the meeting by our Executive Director, Mr. Richard Amoani. Participants were then taken through an overview of the FAWE/Mastercard Foundation Phase II Programme, alongside key expectations and reflections shared by Programs Manager, Anna Nabere.

Goodwill messages from key stakeholders—including the Ministry of Education, GTEC, World University Service of Canada (WUSC - EUMC), and VCTU-Ghana—further reinforced a shared commitment to advancing gender-responsive TVET systems in Ghana.

A strong start, driven by partnership, purpose, and a collective vision for inclusion. 💡

✨ | International Women’s Day 2026 👩🏽‍🔧

On Friday, 13th March 2026, FAWE Ghana joined the Ghana TVET Service and partners to commemorate International Women’s Day 2026 under the theme: “Give to Gain: Empowering the Next Generation of Female Technicians.”

Representing our National Coordinator, Judith Nunoo, Program Accountant at FAWE Ghana, delivered a strong message on the importance of investing in girls’ access to technical and vocational education:

“When we invest in girls and young women, societies prosper… it is a strategic investment in national development.”

The conversation reinforced a critical reality—women remain underrepresented in TVET, and closing this gap is not optional; it is essential for building an inclusive and resilient economy.

“This statistic is not merely a number—it represents thousands of young women whose potential… remains untapped.”

Through strategic partnerships and programmes, FAWE Ghana continues to champion access, mentorship, and opportunities for young women to thrive in technical fields.

“Your ambition is valid, your skills are valuable, and your future in technical fields is possible.”

The mandate is clear: if we are serious about progress, we must be intentional about inclusion.

NEW WEEK | STRONGER COMMITMENT TO SAFEGUARDING

At FAWE Ghana, we recognize that education delivers real impact only when it occurs within safe, inclusive, and respectful environments.

Last week, our team participated in a comprehensive Staff Safeguarding Training, facilitated by our Safeguarding Officer, Yvonne Avornorkadzi, PMP. The session reinforced a critical principle: safeguarding is not merely a policy—it is a shared responsibility embedded in everything we do.

The training focused on key areas, including:

• FAWE’s Safeguarding Commitment and Zero Tolerance for Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA)

• Core principles: Prevention, Protection, and Accountability

• Identifying and responding to different forms of abuse

• Safe recruitment and risk mitigation practices

• Reporting and response mechanisms

• Confidentiality, survivor-centered principles & case management

• Real-world scenarios and open discussions

Our safeguarding framework applies to all—Board members, staff, partners, mentors, interns, consultants, participants, and volunteers. When it comes to protecting the girls, young people, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced persons we serve, there are no exceptions.

“Learning cannot thrive where participants face risks of harm, neglect, or exploitation.” — FAWE Safeguarding Commitment

We are deliberate in our approach. At FAWE Ghana, safeguarding is not just spoken about—it is institutionalized, operationalized, and consistently enforced.

💜 Happy International Women’s Day 2026

This year, we are reminded that when we invest in women and girls, we all win.

At FAWE Ghana, we believe that giving girls access to quality education creates lasting impact for families, communities, and the nation.
When we give opportunity, mentorship, and support — we gain leadership, innovation, and sustainable development.

Let’s commit to giving more so we can gain a more equal and empowered future for all.

Happy Independence Day, Ghana🇬🇭.

6th March 1957 marked a defining moment when Ghana declared independence under the leadership of Kwame Nkrumah — igniting hope across Africa and beyond.
Today, we celebrate the courage, resilience, and unity that continue to shape our nation.

At FAWE Ghana, we remain committed to advancing gender equity through education — because true independence means opportunity for every girl to learn, lead, and thrive.

As we reflect on our journey from the historic grounds of Black Star Square to classrooms across the country, we reaffirm our pledge:
✨ To empower
✨ To advocate
✨ To transform futures

Happy Independence Day, Ghana! 🇬🇭
