Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN) Ghana continues to make significant strides in promoting education and empowering vulnerable children and young people through advocacy and community development initiatives.
Through the dedicated advocacy efforts of our network, a basic school at Kuli in Tamale has benefited from major infrastructural development provided by the Government of Ghana. This intervention has created a more conducive learning environment for pupils and strengthened access to quality education in the community. As part of activities marking the 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬, Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN-Ghana) joined parishioners of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Ziokpe, in the Ho Diocese, for an awareness campaign on the 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
During the programme, Sr. Ignatia Sarfowaa Boaben HHCJ, National Coordinator of AFJN-Ghana, educated the congregation on this year’s theme and highlighted common tactics used by traffickers, including fake job offers and deceptive recruitment schemes.
Participants shared real-life experiences, including a case where a young woman was lured into a QNET-related scam through a supposedly high-paying job offer, and another involving a young man who travelled from Cameroon to Ghana based on false employment promises.
The testimonies reinforced the importance of vigilance, public education, and collective action in preventing human trafficking. AFJN-Ghana encouraged community members to verify job opportunities carefully and remain alert to offers that seem too good to be true.

On Tuesday, 22 June 2026, a team from SARI, Nyankpala, led by Dr. Kwabena Darkwa, supported the planting of 5,120 improved yam setts on a quarter-acre piece of land earlier assessed and approved for cultivation.

Beyond economic benefits, the project also seeks to support the retention of girls in school through completion. By strengthening the financial capacity of families, it aims to reduce the vulnerability of girls to early marriage and domestic servitude.
