Our training helped Theresa Brown, a WIPVaC Apex member from Tema, grow her egg selling business.

Theresa had been in business for 15 years, selling eggs, beans, and gari. When she joined WIPVaC-Apex 3 years ago, her business wasn’t doing well.

As a member of WIPVaC-Apex, Theresa received training on marketing and product quality control. She now packages one size of eggs together and stores eggs in a cool place to prevent breakage..

The small, easily applied changes that Theresa learned from the training decreased spoilage, increased sales, and led to a dramatic increase in income.

Theresa is sometimes approached by other business owners for advice. “I tell them how to package the eggs well and keep them cool.”

Because of the increase in income that Theresa enjoys through trainings, paying school fees, managing illness, and feeding her children has become much easier. “The training from WIPVaC-Apex has definitely helped my business and family,” she said.

If you’re a woman in the poultry-value chain, we’ll be sharing a form soon!

We celebrated International Women’s Day throughout the country! Representatives and members joined us at the La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly for fellowship and uplifting speeches on the important role of women in Ghanaian communities and economies.

We donated eggs to Echoing Hills Ghana, an inclusive residential facility for people with disability and vulnerable children. They provide residents with rehabilitative services, shelter, care and protection, and we were pleased to support their work!

Eggs provide vitamins and minerals like vitamin A, vitamin D, B12, selenium, and iron—all important for immunity, vision, and preventing anemia.
