On 27 June 2014 EU signed Association Agreement (AA) with Georgia and completed the signature process with Ukraine, each providing for a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA). AAs will significantly deepen political and economic ties between the signatories with a long-term perspective of closer political association and economic integration. This is a challenge of those countries to face
legal harmonization and future implementation of initiatives reflected in the AAs. Hence sharing experience of V4 countries (what kind of difficulties they had and how they dealt with them) is very timely and necessary for Georgia and Ukraine. This project outlines and analyzes four actual directions of the DCFTA (Trade remedies, Public procurement, Competition and Transparency). Current situation in both countries and obstacles will be put together in order to find better solutions based on experience of V4 countries’ EU economic integration. In the framework of the project partner organizations from Georgia and Ukraine will develop a research on DCFTA actual issues; Based on these experts from V4 countries will share their experience and suggest recommendations. The publication will be published in two languages – Native and English. Also experts will discuss EU-Ukraine trade relations under tensions. Apart from this, youth from Ukraine and Georgia will participate in summer school where workshops on EU economic integration will take place leading by experienced facilitators. The summer school will be organized in Georgia. Two conferences will be held in scopes of the project: “Trade Under Crisis” in Ukraine and final conference in Georgia.
