💭 "როგორც ფერეიდნელ ქართველსა და ოკუპაციურ თერაპევტს, რომელიც
ძირითადად ბავშვთა რეაბილიტაციაში მუშაობს, ყოველთვის ძალიან
მაინტერესებდა, როგორ მუშაობს სოციალური ზრუნვა და მხარდაჭერა
საქართველოში, განსაკუთრებით კი სხვადასხვა ასაკობრივი ჯგუფების
დახმარების საკითხი. სწორედ ამ ინტერესმა მიმიყვანა მაკ ჯორჯიასა
და მათ გასაოცარ პროექტ "მესტუმრესთან".

მოხალისეობა გულწრფელად მიყვარს, ადამიანებთან დაკავშირება და ურთიერთობა ჩემი დიდი გატაცებაა. ხანდაზმული ადამიანების კეთილდღეობაში წვლილის შეტანის შანსი ჩემთვის განსაკუთრებით ძვირფასია. მჯერა, რომ მათი ისტორიები ფასდაუდებელია.

„მესტუმრე“ განსაკუთრებით მნიშვნელოვანი გამოცდილება აღმოჩნდა, რადგან მან ერთდროულად დააკმაყოფილა როგორც ჩემი პროფესიული ინტერესები, ისე პირადი მოტივაცია — გამეღრმავებინა კავშირი და გამემტკიცებინა კუთვნილების განცდა ფართო ქართულ საზოგადოებაში. მიუხედავად იმისა, რომ ამჟამად საქართველოს ფარგლებს გარეთ ვცხოვრობ, „მესტუმრეს“ ფარგლებში კვლავ მჭიდროდ ვარ ჩართული პროექტში და რეგულარულად ვურთიერთობ ჩემს პარტნიორთან ონლაინ ფორმატში.

ღრმა კმაყოფილება და სითბო, რასაც ამ ურთიერთობებისგან ვიღებ,
უბრალოდ შეუდარებელია. როდესაც შემიძლია მხარდაჭერა შევთავაზო,
თუნდაც მცირე სახით, და მოვისმინო მათი ცხოვრებისეული ამბები, განვიცდი წარმოუდგენელ მადლიერებას.

შეუდარებელია მომენტი, როდესაც მკაფიოდ ვგრძნობდი, რომ პროცესში როგორც ვაზიარებდი სითბოს, ასევე ვიღებდი უკან. პროექტი გამოირჩევა განსაკუთრებული სითბოთი და მნიშვნელობით, რაც კიდევ უფრო აძლიერებს ჩემს სურვილს, ხელი შევუწყო და მხარი დავუჭირო ამ მნიშვნელოვან თაობას. მოუთმენლად ველი სწავლისა და მხარდაჭერის პროცესის გაგრძელებას.

დიდი იმედი მაქვს, რომ ერთ დღეს საქართველოში ფიზიკურად ჩამოვალ და ამ პროექტში პირისპირ მივიღებ მონაწილეობას!".....

💭 "As a Fereydani Georgian and an occupational therapist working primarily in pediatric rehabilitation, I’ve always been deeply curious about how care, connection, and support are expressed within Georgian society—especially across different stages of life. That curiosity, shaped by both my professional path and my personal identity, is what led me to MAC Georgia and its truly special project Mestumre.

Although I currently live outside of Georgia, I remain closely connected through Mestumre by meeting regularly online with my counterpart. Even from a distance, this experience has been deeply meaningful and has allowed me to engage with Georgian society in a very real and human way.

Volunteering has always held an important place in my heart. I value human connection deeply, and the opportunity to support older adults feels especially meaningful. Their life stories, wisdom, and lived experiences are invaluable—and they deserve to be heard, respected, and cherished.

Mestumre quickly became much more than just a project for me. It brought together my professional interests and my personal desire to strengthen my connection to Georgian society and my sense of belonging within it. The warmth, fulfillment, and quiet joy that come from these relationships are difficult to put into words. Even the smallest moments of support, paired with simply listening, leave me with a deep sense of gratitude.

There is something incredibly powerful about realizing that, in this process, I am both giving and receiving warmth at the same time. Mestumre is a project filled with heart and purpose, and it has only deepened my desire to stand alongside and support this remarkable generation.

I truly hope that one day I will be able to travel to Georgia and take part in this beautiful project in person."

პროექტი, „მესტუმრე“ მიზნად ისახავს მოხუცთა პანსიონებში მცხოვრებ მოხუცებულებს მისცეს ახალგაზრდებთან რეგულარული, სოციალური ინტერაქციისა და სასიამოვნო საქმიანობით დაკავების შესაძლებლობა.

სკოლის მაღალკლასელები და სტუდენტები, დაკომპლექტებული და დატრენინგებული MAC Georgia-ს მიერ, ესტუმრებიან მოხუცებულებს პარტნიორ მოხუცებულთა პანსიონებში. ჩვენი მოხალისეები შეასრულებენ მოსაუბრე პარტნიორის როლს და შეხვდებიან ერთ კონკრეტულ ადამიანს ან გაატარებენს დროს ჯგუფთან ერთად. ვიზიტი შეიცავს დიალოგებს და/ან სხვა აქტივობებს (მაგ: სამაგიდო თამაშები, ხელოვნება და ხელსაქმე.) დაფუძნებული მოხუცთა ინტერესებზე.

Our project aims to provide residents of elderly/care homes with regular opportunities for social interaction and enjoyable activity with young people.

High school and university students, recruited and trained by MAC Georgia, will visit older people at our partner elderly/care homes. Our volunteers will act as conversation partners and will meet with one specific person each time or spend time with a group of residents. The sessions will include conversation and/or other activities (eg. board games, arts and crafts) based on the interests of the older people.
