Civil Society for Development in Georgia

Civil Society for Development in Georgia The project is funded by a grant from the Social Transformation Programme (MATRA) of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

CSD is a joint initiative of the CIPDD, based in Tbilisi, Georgia and the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam (ISS), based in The Hague, Netherlands. Civil Society for Development, Decentralisation and Participation in Georgia (CSD) aims to strengthen Civil Society Organizations so that they can mobilize and act collectively to participate in local self-govern

ment activities and promote local development. It will do so by organizing a series of capacity building activities around which Civil Society Organizations in Georgia will develop plans to raise awareness and to mobilize the community for local development. The project will also organize debates and forums which motivate community organizers and interested experts to become actively involved in championing and sustaining decentralized policymaking reforms.
