Cohutta bro are u okay

UPDATE: The Dalton Daily Citizen has received word that, as of approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, a notice was placed on the door of Cohutta Town Hall stating that a special town meeting is set to take place on Friday, May 8, at 5 p.m. regarding the previous dismissal of the town's entire police department earlier this morning.

According to the notice, three of the four members of the Cohutta Town Council have called for the upcoming meeting, with the agenda including:

• Reinstatement of the Town of Cohutta Police Department
• A request for Mayor Ron Shinnick's immediate resignation
• A discussion of the Georgia Public Officers Recall Act of 1989
• If necessary, a third-party investigation into the Removal of Mayor Ron Shinnick from Mayoral Office

The Cohutta Town Council consists of Andy Lopez, Randy Stanton, Sandy Clayborne and Shane Kornberg. It was not immediately disclosed which council member was not included in the posting the notice.

"IT WAS A MISTAKE" Georgia Representative Kasey Carpenter admitted to doing blackface while dressing up with his wife as Kanye West and Kim Kardashian at a party between "12 to 14" years ago.

Carpenter says he understands it is bigger than just politics, and America has a deep history of racial tensions, but it’s suspicious that the photo is just now circulating:

"I mean 12 to 14 years and now pops up in an election year. I've never heard anything about it. I never want to offend anybody. I am in the service industry, I serve people I work with people of all walks of life."
