Day 1 of Lionel’s epic bike challenge to raise valuable funds for our street kitchen!
Lionel admits he is not a cyclist, and this will be a big challenge for him riding solo along the Ciro Trail between Bosnia and Croatia. Please support him and in turn us if you can.

A quieter session today but still all the delicious meals prepared were eaten/taken away for other days. And over 20 omelettes cooked fresh to order.

What a wonderful evening we had at the HAY (Hospitality Association York) Awards last night!
HAY chose us as their charity of the year and have been helping us in various ways.
Last night, whilst celebrating the wonderful folk who make our hotel experience so memorable, they organised a raffle which raised a whopping £1231!!!
Quite incredible!
This will keep our kitchen running for a whole month; serving nearly 500 people 1200 two-course meals.

This coming Sunday, whilst we are cooking food for the afternoon service, our friend Lionel Chatard will be swapping his managerial duties at Middlethorpe Hall Hotel for a bike, which he will use to cycle alone along the Ciro Trail from Bosnia to Croatia.
He is raising vital funds for our kitchen service, and has already achieved his target of £1000! 🎉 This will cover the running of the kitchen for 3 weeks, serving around 360 people and almost 1000 two-course meals!
We are so grateful to you Lionel and wish you well, a good wind and clear skies ❤️

A very busy service, with around 140 visitors.
Luckily the rain stayed away, as it was way too windy for our big gazebos.
It was a lovely atmosphere with lots of chat and laughter.
Thank you to our wonderful team today who spend the day making delicious meals and then serving with a smile ❤️
Finally, thank you to Low Moor Allotments plot holders for the veg donation.
