Amp-Music

Amp-Music We’re a youth music development charity. We champion the transformative potential of music for children and young people.

We run music projects for 0-25 year olds living in North Yorkshire, working with professional musicians to help children and young people develop new musical and personal skills, explore their creativity and build their confidence. Working with brilliant partners like Live Music Now, Harrogate International Festivals, Connecting Youth Culture, Accessible Arts & Media, Musicport, Dales Jam, Skipton

Extended Learning for All and Skipton Camerata, our projects cover a wide range of genres, from pop and rock to jazz, world, classical and folk.

*A CALL FOR ACTION*

AMP and Forge have written an open letter to UK Youth Fund and Pears Foundation.

UK Youth Fund and Pears Foundation launched a new £10 million fund recently, providing multi-year, unrestricted funding alongside targeted capacity-building support to small youth organisations. However, we were extremely disappointed to see that of the locations listed as eligible for funding, not one of them was in North Yorkshire. All other parts of Yorkshire had representation.

We’re asking for action to be taken to rethink funding formulas and to create a more inclusive approach to investment for young people in the UK. We would like to see a revised approach that does not leave some of the most isolated communities in the country out of future funding programmes.

Please share to help us ensure that young people in rural areas have the same access to opportunities as young people in towns and cities. We all need to work together to ensure their future is supported.

Are you an open minded, positive thinking team player with a willingness to learn and a belief that young people from all backgrounds should have access to music opportunities?

AMP is seeking motivated and dynamic individuals from age 18 upwards who are passionate about wanting the voices of young people to be heard. We are looking for trustees, young trustees (aged 30 and under), and a Co-Chair.

We would particularly like to hear from people with expertise in communications, fundraising, alternative education provision, advocacy, and legal expertise. We would also like to hear from people from under-represented and marginalised groups, and with lived experience of North Yorkshire, ideally currently or as a young person.

To find out more, and how to apply, visit our website (https://amp-music.co.uk/about-us/join-the-team/)

Deadline to apply is Wednesday 17 June at 5pm.
