First foraging walk of 2026 – this Sunday 3 May

Join our ever-popular foraging walks, in the company of experienced local forager Carl Wain. This Sunday 3 May, 14.00 to 15.30 - full details and free tickets here. These walks are a great opportunity to get to know your local area better, meet other local people, and learn about food-for-free in our hedgerows and open spaces. The next walk after 3 May will be Sunday 9 August - save the date, and we'll post more details here. Sign-up to our blog to receive direct notifications. Out and about today, for Open Studios? Drop in to Planet South Bank as well :)

If you're visiting York Open Studios in the South Bank area today, why not call in to see what Planet South Bank is up to as well? We'll be at the local makers’ markets this morning at Bazaar in the car park Bishopthorpe Road shops. And this afternoon is Planet South Bank's Spring Fair, 2- 4pm - details below. We’ll have some of our usual things (see poster), plus a selection of ‘Street Recycle’ type bric-a-brac, for those who can’t wait for the Street Recycle in the autumn (now set for Sunday October 4 October - save the date).
