CAN YOU HELP?! 🧶🎨🖌️

Do you have any unwanted arts and crafts bits?!

We are revamping our art club and coming back with a bang! 💥 We’re looking for felt, glue guns, sequins, cardboard, coloured paper, lolly sticks, you name it; if it can be used to make something we’ll take it!

As always, any help and donations are hugely appreciated 💙

This time last week some of our team were learning and practicing first aid ⛑️

It’s safe to say this definitely comes in handy, particularly with the amount of cuts from corned beef tins! 👀

One of our volunteers even brought some delicious baked treats in to get the team through the day! 🍰🥧

What better way to enjoy the sun than to throw a BBQ for everyone to enjoy! 🍔

A huge thank you to our amazing committed volunteers who offered their time outside of their usual shifts.

Another thank you to the fab Tony Carson who donated the meat and buns to make this happen.

Compliments were made to the chef and everyone went away with full bellies!

Gone but not forgotten 🪽

A truly special afternoon celebrating a life we have lost far too soon. It was amazing to see a spread of service users, past and present volunteers and a variety of other services join together to celebrate and share memories of someone that was a consistent presence without our communities.

A huge thank you to the lovely Deacon Judith for coming back to hold the service 🙏

A massive thank you to the amazing team at Hoping York Street Kitchen for the supply of catering for everyone to enjoy afterwards! 🍰

We also remember our other friends who we have lost within the last year - you will live on in our memories and stories.

This week has been .

As Volunteers’ Week comes to an end, we’d like to thank our volunteers for all they do. 🙌 Without the commitment, kindness and enthusiasm, Carecent would not be what it is today.

Each and every day our volunteers continue to show up and offer their time and dedication through the good; the bad; the traumatic and certainly the unknown!

At the heart of Carecent is people - those who volunteer with us and make it possible to open consistently throughout the year and expand on the services we bring to those in need.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers, and those who have volunteered with us in the past; today’s work would not be possible without your commitment 💙

Outreach 🛒

For the next couple of months we are closing on a Thursday afternoon and providing an outreach service within the city centre. Our team of volunteers are taking to the streets of York. 🚶🚶‍♀️

Equipped to signpost to external services regarding housing, mental health, benefits, substance abuse support services and much more; providing beverages and snacks and on those hotter days, ice pops, suncream and bottled water!
