🚮🌞 A fantastic morning out with HR2 Rotary Club in Great Yarmouth today!

Starting at the Market Place and making our way up to the beach, our brilliant team collected an impressive 8 full bags of litter along the route. Every piece picked up helps keep our town looking its best for residents and visitors alike.

A big thank you to everyone who gave up their time to help make a difference. Community spirit was in full force this morning! 💙

We also enjoyed a very welcome stop at Britannia Pier, where Krispies Fish & Chip Co kindly treated us to a complimentary cuppa ☕ – much appreciated and just what we needed after all that hard work!

Together, we're helping to keep Great Yarmouth clean, tidy and something we can all be proud of. 🌊♻️

This week marks the start of Volunteers’ Week in the UK, and we wanted to take this opportunity to THANK ALL our Rotarians across the world for giving their time, talents and enthusiasm as a member of Rotary.

Whether you’ve been in Rotary for many years, or are new to Rotary, the service you all give and projects you all support are so valuable.

Thanks to all of you, you are making a difference to people’s lives every day, in communities in Great Britain and Ireland and around the world 🌍

A huge thank you to HR2 - A New Rotary Club for Great Yarmouth who a few weeks ago donated money to 1st Great Yarmouth Scout group to help purchase some camping equipment for their district camp ⛺ this weekend

It was so wonderful for me to be part of this along with many other amazing Scout/Explorer/Cubs/Beaver leaders who worked incredibly hard to be part of a wonderful weekend

The children had a wonderful time and were all incredibly brave and tried things they have never done before. So many activities from Cave Bus adventures, Trapezium High Ropes, Canoeing 🛶, Shelter building and the most wonderful Camp Fire 🏕️ where lots of very loud singing voices could be heard across the entire huge campsite

I ( Nyree Okeke) got a lovely suprise and I was invested as a Scout Lead Volunteer and had both my children who were in attendance there, standing next to me whilst I made my promise to Scouts and the King 👑

Thank you Rotary HR2 for your lovely donation from all the children and other Scout Leaders at 1st Great Yarmouth Scouts, you enabled a fun weekend to happen for children in our community

Many people ask what Rotary International and HR2 Rotary Club actually do within the community and the answer is simple…

We raise funds to help people locally, support important causes and invest back into our community.

Thanks to the generosity and support we receive at our events, we have been proud to:

✨ Support young local dance talent and opportunities for young people
🏫 Donate to schools and educational projects
💜 Support Leeway, a charity helping individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, providing vital support, safety and guidance to those facing incredibly difficult circumstances
🏥 Provide donations to our local hospital
🎵 Donate music equipment to encourage creativity and learning
🏡 Support local care homes, helping improve the wellbeing of both residents and staff
🤝 And so much more within our local community.

Every event we hold, every raffle ticket bought and every donation received helps us continue supporting people and organisations throughout our community.

So when you visit our stall, attend an event or support HR2 Rotary Club, you are directly helping us give back and support those who need it most.

Thank you for continuing to support us- together we really can make a difference. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our recent quiz night! 🎉

We are delighted to share that we raised £393 for Bright Futures 👏

It was a fantastic evening filled with fun, laughter and a bit of healthy competition, all while raising money for a brilliant cause. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated and helped make the night such a success.

This morning, HR2 Rotary Club had the privilege of welcoming Jools, CEO of Leeway Domestic Abuse Charity, to speak to our group.

No fluff. No softening of the edges. Just an honest, unflinching account of what domestic abuse looks like in our communities, and why it demands our attention.

1 in 3 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime.

That is not a distant statistic. That is someone in your street, your workplace, your family. Women and young girls who are suffering, often in silence, often with nowhere to turn.

Leeway Domestic Violence and Abuse Services exist to change that. If you can support their work, share this post, or simply have a conversation with someone you are worried about, please do.

You do not need to be certain to reach out. You just need to care enough to ask.

HR2 - A New Rotary Club for Great Yarmouth are proud to be able to donate £500 to Able2B .

Able2B are a fantastic organisation who helps the disabled community by delivering multiple services including sports massage, hydrotherapy, rebound therapy, online fitness group classes and 1 to 1 services.

They believe surgery is not always the answer and their aim is to help individuals whatever their problems to discover their ability and show their friends and family what is possible if you just believe.

With first hand experience of their services with Jess having suffered a pr*****ed disc, with help and the guidance of Rachael and Jon, Jess has avoided back surgery and is now on the road to recovery and in a far better place not just physically.

We made the presentation to Rachael and Jon and learnt from them about their upcoming expansion to Able2B, what they will then be able to offer will be even more amazing, anyone suffering
or waiting for treatment currently should go along and see how Able2B can help them.
