🎂✨ The Heads On team took on our own fundraising challenge to sponsor a mental health ward this Christmas by hosting a bake sale at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust HQ.

Thanks to the fantastic support of colleagues, we're aiming to raise £250 to sponsor a ward, helping to provide festive treats, activities and gifts for patients spending Christmas in hospital. With our first bake sale a great success, we're well on our way.

🌟🎄Sponsor a ward this Christmas with Heads On - Give the Gift of Connection and Hope.

This Christmas, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will be caring for people across 35 inpatient wards throughout Sussex. Many patients will be too unwell to spend the festive season with loved ones, and some may have no family support at all.

With your help, Heads On can provide every ward with activities, festive treats and gifts that help patients feel connected, valued and hopeful during what can be a difficult time of year.

We're inviting businesses, community groups, families and individuals to Sponsor a Ward this Christmas.

Sponsorship starts from £250 per ward.

Ways to Sponsor a Ward
🌟 Corporate Sponsorship
Support a ward as a business and help make Christmas brighter for patients receiving mental health care across Sussex.

🌟 Community Sponsorship
Join together with friends, neighbours, schools, clubs or local organisations to sponsor a ward.

🌟 Individual Sponsorship
Perhaps you or a loved one has received care from a Sussex Partnership service, especially over Christmas. By sponsoring a ward, you can help bring comfort, connection and hope to others spending Christmas in hospital.

Heads On has places in the Brighton Marathon and Brighton 10k on Sunday 4 April 2027. This is one of most exciting events of the year and there is usually quite the team of runners representing Heads On. If you would like to join the challenge, please visit our website to find out more. Link in comments.

Sponsorship: We ask all participants to raise a minimum of £400 each (excluding registration fee)

Date: Sunday 4 April 2027
Location: Brighton
Registration Fee: £25
Sponsorship: We ask all participants to raise a minimum of £175 each (excluding registration fee)

Take on the course around one of the UK's most vibrant cities and help raise vital funds to support people suffering from a mental health condition across Sussex.

We will help you fundraise with advice and support on setting up a Just Giving page, give you sponsorship forms, collecting tins, leaflets, etc. You will also receive a running vest for the day and Heads On t-shirts for your friends and family who will be supporting you on the day.

Over the past year, Arunners Running Club chose to support Heads On and Sussex Cancer Fund as their charities of the year. Thanks to the incredible generosity of club members and supporters, both charities received an amazing £771.66 to help continue their work within the local community.

Fittingly, Arunners Running Club's donation to Heads On will be used to support the Heads On Run Club, helping to ensure the group can continue providing a welcoming and inclusive space for people to improve their wellbeing through running.

Karen, Volunteer Run Club Lead, said:

"It's wonderful to see runners supporting one another both on the road and on the track. This fantastic donation will help keep Heads On Run Club running and supporting our community. Thank you."

We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation in support of a cause that means so much to the club and its members.

Heads On Run Club meets every Friday at 12 noon at Worthing Leisure Centre, and everyone is welcome. Many members find that running together provides valuable support for their mental health, while also offering an opportunity to connect with others in a friendly and encouraging environment.

Whether you're thinking about taking your first steps into running or you're an experienced marathon runner, there's a place for you in the group.

Huge thank you to all our Swim Serpentine participants! They collectively raised over £4700 including gift aid.

“Taking on the Swim Serpentine was such a rewarding experience. Mental health is something I care deeply about, having studied psychology and experienced my own challenges when I was younger. The support I received from therapy and the people around me made a huge difference, so being able to raise money to help others access support felt really meaningful. I’m so grateful to everyone who donated and helped me raise over £500 for Heads On.” - Charlotte.

With under 2 weeks to go, Heads On is showcasing our 2026 participants in the Swim Serpentine event.

Inga is taking on the 2 mile challenge.
