🎉 ENERGY COAST LIVE! 2026 IS HERE! 🎉

Get ready for one of West Cumbria's most exciting youth-led events as Energy Coast LIVE! returns to Energy Coast UTC on Tuesday 7th July 2026.

Join us for a day packed with live music, great street food, community pride and fantastic opportunities. Taking to the stage will be The Anthems, Triggers Broom, Luke Mat, Chris Pears DJ, Kyle Newrick, with more acts still to be announced.

Pride is more than a parade across Whitehaven Harbour. More than a flag in a Cafe. More than a month in the year.

It's about visibility. It's about acceptance. It's about ensuring that everyone can live openly, safely, and authentically without fear of discrimination or exclusion.

At NEAD CIC and Proud and Diverse Cumbria, we believe that every person deserves to feel valued, respected, and celebrated for who they are. That's why inclusion sits at the heart of everything we do, from our Inclusion Hub and youth projects to our flagship Pride By The Harbourside and the partnerships we build throughout the year.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, honour those who fought for the rights many enjoy today, and recognise that there is still work to do to create a world where everyone truly belongs.

Whether you're attending a Pride event, supporting a friend, sharing your story, or simply learning more about the experiences of others, every act of support helps build a more inclusive future.

🎉 Whitehaven Weekender Tickets Are Now Live! 🎉

Join us for an incredible celebration as the Pride By the Harbourside Arena brings a huge line-up of live music to Whitehaven Harbour, headlined by the iconic Vengaboys!

To join the celebration in the Pride By The Harbourside main arena, you’ll need a ticket!

🎟 Tickets are FREE (with a £3.50 booking fee) and are ONLY required for the main arena on DAY 2!

📍 Ticket only required for the main arena

Whitehaven Weekender is more than just this though, it’s a 2 day festival combining Rosehill’s Harbourfest (Saturday 29th Aug) and our Pride by The Harbourside (Sunday 30th Aug)!

Something HUGE is coming to Workington! 👀

Northern Equality and Diversity is expanding, and our biggest project yet is just around the corner… we can’t wait to share more with you all.

Coming early Summer 2026, Cumbria’s first fully under-18s center and café! 🎉

The new venue will feature: Live DJs, Non-alcoholic drinks, Gaming consoles, Phone charging stations, Free WiFi, Club nights and much more

NEAD is a Community Interest Company based in West Cumbria. We are best known for delivering major community events and festivals including Pride by the Harbourside, Whitehaven Weekender and Energy Coast LIVE!

Now, we’re expanding into something completely new, creating a mega exciting social space designed especially for young people across Cumbria.

We are located right in the heart of Workington on Pow Street! We can’t wait to see you at our first club night for the Launch!

Whitehaven… are you ready?!

We are beyond excited to officially announce that the one and only VENGABOYS will be headlining our Pride 2026 as the second day of The Whitehaven Weekender at Whitehaven Harbour on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30st August 2026.

Pride by the Harbourside returns bigger, louder and more colourful than ever as Day 2 of The Whitehaven Weekender, a two-day harbour-side festival celebrating community, culture and inclusion. Expect live music, community stages, traders, food vendors, the Pride Parade and an unforgettable headline performance as the sun sets over the marina.

Rocco Boyd, Co-Chair of the event, said: “Pride by the Harbourside is about bringing people together through equality, diversity and inclusion. We want everyone in Whitehaven to feel safe, welcome and proud of who they are. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or this is your first Pride in Whitehaven, 2026 is the year you don’t want to miss."

Glenn Anderson, Co-Chair, added: "Pride by the Harbourside has always been about hosting an unforgettable party that celebrates people being their authentic selves. What better way to get people into the party spirit than with the help of the Venga Boys? We’re incredibly excited that we’ve been able to bring these iconic performers to Whitehaven!"

January just flew in and suddenly we’re into February already. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

We love our Prides, so here’s a collection of photos from our last one to remind us why we do what we do 💖

The energy, the colour, and the sense of community are what make these events so special, and they’re a big part of why we’re so excited for what’s ahead.
