Worcestershire Cricket Foundation has made history. ๐Ÿ

We are proud to share that WCF has delivered the first ever seated cricket session designed specifically for a group of entirely visually impaired and blind participants, in partnership with the Beacon Centre

Led by Inclusion Coach and VI Cricket Lead Conor Martin and Disability Development Officer Nic, the session brought together 16 participants for a carefully adapted programme of throwing catching and batting activities. The session was designed to build confidence improve coordination and promote physical activity in a fully inclusive and accessible environment.

The impact went beyond the physical. The session created genuine opportunities for social connection and teamwork and the feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive.

Following the success of the inaugural session Conor and Nic have already returned to deliver a second session at the centre. Looking ahead there are plans to expand the programme further to include visually impaired cricket sessions for school members who access the Beacon Centre.

This is a landmark moment for inclusive sport in Worcestershire and a demonstration of what is possible when the right people and the right organisations come together.

For more information about WCF's disability and inclusion programmes contact Conor Martin at [email protected]
