Sheila Carr, one of SADC’s most experienced directors, has spent more than 30 years directing a wide range of productions for the company, including Arsenic and Old Lace, Never the Sinner, A Bad Dream, and The 39 Steps. Now she brings that experience to Honour, a smart, emotionally rich drama, with strong language, that offers audiences a compelling, contemporary look at relationships, loyalty, and the choices people make in pursuit of happiness.
The play has only four characters - Honor, the wife; George, the husband; Sophie, their daughter; and Claudia, a young journalist - but creates an intimate yet powerful portrait of family tension, shifting loyalties, and emotional upheaval. Every relationship on stage feels immediate, recognisable, and full of dramatic intensity.
Sheila says, "What makes Honour so compelling is its fresh and intelligent perspective. What may begin as a familiar situation soon becomes something far more nuanced, as the story unfolds through each character’s point of view."
If you enjoy thought-provoking drama, superb writing, and performances that truly connect, Honour promises an absorbing and rewarding evening of theatre. Don’t miss the chance to see this beautifully crafted production - book your tickets and join us for what is sure to be a memorable night.
