We look forward to seeing you on Saturday at for our 5KYW meet-up.
After all the recent hot weather, it looks cooler & a little rainy which might be something of a relief!

We’ll meet by the blue flag at 8:40am. Please leave plenty of time for parking and walking to the meeting point if you’re travelling by car.
Please note that the Mansion car park is reserved for non parkrunners.

Don’t be put off by the name ‘parkrun’ as there will be plenty of parkwalkers including some of our group who love to walk and talk. And you don’t need to walk the full 5km course, you can walk as much or as little as you feel up to.

After the parkrun we’ll meet at The Pantry café for a cuppa and cake 🍰 ☕️

The parkrun course will hopefully be dry, courtesy of our recent weather but trail shoes or walking boots will not be out of place! Do move at whatever pace feels right for you.

Volunteer ambassadors from Nonsuch 5k Your Way and Lloyd parkrun, Croydon - 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer were at a roadshow at The Royal Marsden NHS in Sutton yesterday.

Did you know that we are linked with The Royal Marsden’s physical activity strategy?

We enjoyed chatting with patients, staff, family members, and volunteers at the Oak Cancer Centre yesterday.

The most common theme of the conversations was the isolation that many patients feel and the benefits of joining a group of people who understand what it’s like to go through cancer treatment. Our groups offer a great way to connect with others and move in nature without pressure to do anything more than you’re ready to do.

5k Your Way groups are
💙 flexible - walk (5km or less), run, volunteer, cheer, or just join us for coffee
💙 free!
💙 run by ambassadors with lived experience of cancer or working in a cancer setting
💙 relaxed and with no regular commitment needed - just turn up when it suits you
💙 for anyone whose life has been affected by cancer - why not bring a friend or family member?

More information available at 5kyourway.org

We also took the opportunity to pop into Maggie’s for a cuppa afterwards. The Maggie’s centre on site at the Royal Marsden is wonderfully relaxing space with a wide range of support services available and we are proud to be able to help clients of Maggie's Centres to become more active, supported by people who understand cancer.

If you happen to be at the Royal Marsden in Chelsea today, look out for the 5k Your Way ambassadors from across London 💙
