Star Trek: The Next Frontier is a fan film project which focuses on a the crew of the USS PINE as they chart new worlds and engage with new species.

To launch the project we have made a Trilogy of films that show off the tone, vibe and best of the series whilst also incorporating all of Star Trek into a 60th Anniversary tribute, without overly used fan service and relevant to the plot. There's a ton of easter eggs for Trekkie's in the films but it doesn't overshadow the original plotting and stories.

'THE UNKNOWN' September 5th
When the USS PINE is sent to chart an unexplored planet, they are attacked by an unknown vessel and forced to abandon ship to the planet below which holds and mystery and the chance of first contact with a telepathic race.

'The Tarkolion Tapestry' SeptemberS 12th
The USS PINE answer a distress call from a damaged Tarkolion ship, but when they arrive on the ship Engineer Waterfield suspects something more sinister is happening and these Tarkolion's are not to be trusted.

'The Tarkolion War' September 19th
When history is altered, Captain Nimoy and Doctor Dyson are all that's left to save the future as they become trapped on a familiar Starship swarmed by Tarkolion Soldiers.

RELEASE DATE: 5TH SEPTEMBER 2026
TIME: 6:30PM

'THE TARKOLION TAPESTRY'
RELEASE DATE: 12TH SEPTEMBER 2026
TIME: 6:30PM

Both films will be accessible to watch solo and confined stories but with an overreaching arc to do with the Tarkolions!

IMPORTANT PROJECT UPDATE:

Star Trek: The Next Frontier will no longer be released episodically for the foreseeable future. Episodes 2 and 3 are being shelved and cut out to make a TWO PART film.

The aim of this is to test the waters of the project. A two episode back to back story, both standalone bit with an overreaching narrative. If the project does well we will continue from there but if not it will be a self contained 2 story feature with an earlier release date than expected.

The reasoning behind this change is a few factors. Not only does it help with filming schedules for people but it also gives us a chance to not throw all our Phasers in one holster and be fluid with that we make and when. This also opens us up to start pushing the DC revival on the channel and doesn't limit us to 1 project that takes most of the year to produce.

The episodes for this series are still scripted and ready to go into production but it feels more sensible to show off the opening and the finale as one story to show all elements of the project (Ie. Green screen, VFX, location filming) over 2 stories that anyone can watch and enjoy without tons of episodes to catch up on. The story also works a lot better following on from each other this way than opening, 2 character focused episodes, then a finale. This way the story is open and not confined to a structure. We can make it accessible whilst also fulfilling our promise of release to you all. We are Scheduled for completion of filming (minus reshoots) this week and next then post production will be shortly completed after! Then a release date will be given!

A full season may very well be on the cards but for now this two part 60+ minute story will introduce us all to the characters and plot without a weekly viewing factor.
