2026 had to be a big year; I would be turning 60, my wife Louise and I would be celebrating 40 years of marriage, and we were later to discover that 2026 would be the year we were to become grandparents for the first time. The year needed to be marked by something special!

This Saturday’s free guided walk leaves Wolsingham Town Hall at 10am and is our popular 8.5 mile route to the rhododendrons at St. John’s Hall. This year, the 2nd Saturday falls late in the month so we will likely miss the flowers in their full glory but there should still be plenty of colour to see. To compensate for this, the route takes on a couple of new paths through wonderful woodland. Everyone able to negotiate countryside obstacles is welcome to join us.
