We are very proud to say that The Forest School has a PTA which can provide much-needed funds for your children’s benefit. This is not the case in all secondary schools.
Without a PTA, your children would be missing out on the following:
- Playground and sports equipment regularly maintained and replaced
- Additional items purchased for use in lessons that the school can’t afford otherwise
- Memorabilia from school events such as Forest scarves for supporting the school sports teams at national events
- Items for extra curricular clubs such as board games and more
In addition to this, as a parent community you would be missing out on:
- Lovely drinks and snacks when you attend school events
- Doughnuts brought home from sales by your children!
- Fun nights out with family and friends such as our Curry and Quiz night.
The Forest School is all the better for its PTA!
BUT! A number of the current PTA team’s children are likely to be moving on from the school after this year, so without parents coming forward to join the committee, it could easily not exist by this time next year.
Joining the PTA is a commitment, but it’s not a heavy one. The more members, the easier the task is and we would love to see a growth in how we can financially support the school in more significant ways. This is for your children’s benefit and we fully believe it’s worth it.
Not only that, being part of the PTA is fun! We get to share in our children’s education in special ways, knowing we are also helping the hardworking team of teaching staff at the same time.
At the moment, meetings are usually held monthly at 19.00 on the first Monday of each month (check the newsletter for dates). This time/day is flexible so please don’t preclude yourselves from joining if you think this time would not work for you!
We love having parents who support the committee by helping at school events- we couldn’t run them without you! But we now need some parents to step forward to join the team in a more regular way, in order to ensure its survival! So please consider in what ways you could help.
If helping is not possible for you, please look out for further information on Forest events coming up this term and consider coming along to support in that way instead.
Please email us on [email protected] or alternatively just turn up to our next meeting on 2nd March at 19.00(an online link can be sent to those who can’t join in person).
Thanks very much again for your support
