What a great day. Our annual East Kent federation Summer Garden day in Canterbury. Today 150 ladies had a fabulous time listening to three great speakers- Nan Eshelby telling us how to garden for pollinators and much more, Neil Franklin from Brogdale Collections and then fabulous wedding flowers from Blooming Green . They grow their own flowers on their farm so you can pick your own! All of this plus lots of great shopping.
Why wouldn’t you join the WI!
💐🐝💚🌷🍏💚🍎💐🌷. This ties in nicely with our monthly meeting on Tuesday 5th June. We are looking at our Community Garden at the back of the hall. Start time 7.30pm. Teas and coffees outside weather permitting. Come along x

What a fab evening we had last night.
Jo Terry told us how and why she came to take her degree and showed us how to make a small ceramic piece to take home.
Topped off with tea and cake to celebrate our 98 years as a WI group and
Our competition of something beginning with “M”.
Look out for what’s next and why not have come and join us.

Our last meeting welcomed Jo Payton to speak on her role as our community warden for the last 20 years. She started by telling us what she doesn’t do, arrest people or issue parking tickets 😀. Over the years her role has become more diverse. She is there for us, for anyone who needs help, advice or assistance. Or even just a friendly face for those who can’t get out and need some social interaction/help with forms. Jo can be contacted on 07980 770578 . She really is there for our community.

We are pleased to announce our committee has been reformed after our recent AGM and we have a new president Ann Simpson. We thank her and wish her best wishes as she takes on this role, held for many many years by Jean Elliott. Thanks also goes to Jean and we look forward to her continuing to be a vital member of our group.
We have a lot on offer for the coming year. Our first meeting on April 7th welcomes Jo Payton our community warden talking on her role and help that can be offered into the community. A reminder will be sent out nearer to the time.
All are welcome, we can even provide transport to and from the meeting for existing members, new members and anyone else who wants to come but can’t get themselves there. Coffees/teas and a biscuit are included for a small donation of £2 for non members.
Look out for further information and news of the coming months activities.
