SAVE THE DATE Sunday, 27th September 2026! 🗓️

We’re excited to announce that the second annual O.K. 10k is returning to Rangers Lawn, Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire.

This year’s event will feature a slightly updated route, but our mission remains unchanged: a fun, inclusive, 5k or 10k walk or run for all ages and abilities to raise awareness of Neuroendocrine Cancer and funds for research into this rare disease.

After last year’s incredible response, which sold out in a few weeks! 🙌, we’ve increased capacity so that more people can get involved and walk or run through this beautiful private estate which is not usually open to the public.

Behind the scenes, we are updating our website, and registration will be opening soon at www.ok10k.org
Spread the word and tell your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours to save the date!

Our very first O.K. 10k was such a huge success and it was great to see everyone having fun and some even achieve a new personal best 💪!

We are delighted to share that Olivia has been awarded a Neuroendocrine Cancer UK Hero Award in recognition of her remarkable fundraising initiative and dedication to raising awareness of Neuroendocrine Cancer. Thank you, everyone, for voting for our wonderful, selfless Olivia.

In the last months of her life Olivia shared her wish to hold an annual, inclusive 10k walk or run event to raise money and awareness for Neuroendocrine Carcinoma (NEC) cancer. This was motivated by her own experience being far short of what was needed.

The very first O.K.10k in October 2025 was a huge success and raised a total of £28,750.75 (excluding Gift Aid and VAT). This money will be donated by way of a grant to a carefully chosen project related to Neuroendocrine Endocrine Carcinoma and we, the Olivia Kazimiera Foundation for Neuroendocrine Cancer, will closely monitor progress of it.

None of this would have happened without the help and generosity of our sponsors, participants, and volunteers. THANK YOU!

We only wish Olivia was here to see how her idea became a reality with everyone coming together to walk and run with their family and friends to raise awareness and funds for Neuroendocrine Carcinoma (NEC) cancer.

Last chance to vote for Olivia!

🌟 Olivia has been nominated for the Fundraiser Award at the Neuroendocrine Cancer Hero Awards!

In the months before Olivia died, she decided she wanted to set up an inclusive and fun annual event to raise money for research into neuroendocrine cancer. The O.K. 10k fulfills Olivia’s wish to bring people together each year to run or walk, with their children, family and friends.

Despite being ill with advanced incurable neuroendocrine cancer she used her precious time to think about what she could do to help others. This was motivated by her own experience that awareness and treatment for neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) cancer fell far short of what was needed. Olivia’s unselfish and determined wish led to her close family setting up the Olivia Kazimiera Foundation for Neuroendocrine Cancer. Then, with help from a team of volunteers, we hosted a hugely successful first O.K. 10k event in October 2025.

🗳️ Voting is open until SUNDAY 23rd NOVEMBER — help honour Olivia’s legacy and amplify her mission. 👉 https://www.tfaforms.com/5202962?fbclid=IwdGRjcAODvM1jbGNrA4O8ymV4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDDM1MDY4NTUzMTcyOAABHtsyxGvaanJdWdUhuAh2Kgy0gYlv8-cUOInYVkPy0sSsJeJiQDWU66bvid7z_aem_uoO01CFX2PiVMNFN_Kj3eQ

Today, on World Neuroendocrine Cancer Day (NET day), we’re highlighting the difference between two key types of Neuroendocrine Cancer.

NETs vs NECs: What’s the Difference? 🧠✨
Both start in the same cells—but they behave very differently.

🧬 Neuroendocrine Tumours (NETs) and Neuroendocrine Carcinomas (NECs) may sound similar, but they’re not the same.

Here’s a simple breakdown:
🟢 NETs (Neuroendocrine Tumours)
• Well-differentiated: Cells look more like normal neuroendocrine cells.
• Slower-growing: Often, it takes years to develop but can be slow, moderate, or fast growing.
• Generally given a stage or grade (1,2,3 etc)
• Can be less aggressive: Some people live with NETs for many years.

🔴 NECs (Neuroendocrine Carcinomas)
• Poorly differentiated: Cells look very abnormal under a microscope.
• Fast-growing: Can spread quickly.
• Not given a stage or grade.
• More aggressive: Requires urgent treatment with poor survival rates.

💡 Think of it like this:
NETs are like slow-burning candles 🕯️—they take time and can be managed.
NECs are like wildfires 🔥—they move fast and need rapid response.

One of the aims of The Olivia Kazimiera Foundation for Neuroendocrine Cancer is to raise awareness of this devastating and poorly understood disease—especially Neuroendocrine Carcinoma (NECs).

Effective treatment options are limited, and survival rates remain low. Due to its rarity, NECs are not a high priority for the NHS in terms of investment, research, or treatment—especially when compared to more common, better known, and understood cancers. This is why Olivia’s wish is to raise awareness of Neuroendocrine Carcinoma to help others who also get diagnosed with this cancer.

If you or someone you know is diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Cancer, knowing whether it’s a NET or NEC is crucial for treatment and prognosis.
