Hello you lovely lot. It’s Laura, I just wanted to let you all know that we’re still here and helping where we can.
Yesterday we delivered 2 large gnomes to a little boy name Oakley. Oakley is autistic and partially sighted. Unfortunately he had all his gnomes which he loves stolen from his garden and was heartbroken.
Edith’s purse stepped in and bought him 2 new ones to put a smile back on his face.
We’ve also reached out to a few local schools recently and put some money in a pot for them to be able to help families that are financially struggling to buy uniform and shoes for their kids. This is heartbreaking.
Thanks also Lorraine Scott for having an Edith’s purse collection pot at else’s. Thanks to all you customers for their donations. I believe we had just over Β£35 in there. I will get the pot back to you asap.
Also a huge thanks to Blair Simpson and Shyla for organising the colour run on Saturday with all proceeds being split between Edith’s purse and the Alan Hudson centre. A lovely amount raised to keep the purse topped up. Thank you to everyone that took part and donated. ###

Hello my booties, (I had to start with that) this is Laura, Emma’s sister. Just wanted to put a little post on to let you all know that EMFEST 2026 will go ahead on Saturday July the 25th at Gorefield.
As you know we sadly lost Emma in January after her brave and courageous fight to cancer. We made her a promise that we would keep Emfest alive for as long as possible. We are hoping to make this year bigger and better than ever in her memory.
We have live entertainment, inflatables, face painting, balloon modelling and magicians and Princess Belle all booked in. We will update you with all the info over the coming weeks. If anybody knows of any crowd entertainment that would be willing to give up a couple of hours of their time we would really love to hear from you.
We also have a burger van, pizza, fish and chips, jacket potato and ice cream van. The bar will be open as always too if you would like to purchase a drink.
We will run a couple of raffles like last year too. So are in desperate need of some donations to help keep our costs minimal. We are hoping to do the kids free raffle again so if anybody has any kids toys, games etc that they would be willing to donate we would really appreciate it. These would really need to be brand new. We would love to be able to give every child a free raffle ticket again like last year.
We also have a gigantic Emma Bear raffle this year in place of the gorgeous dog from last year.
We would love to do a main raffle again. We are thinking a tv, alcohol hamper and maybe a cash prize again. If anybody can help towards any of these that would be great. You can contact myself Laura Safi Sahli Waterfield or Darren Barnard if you have things you would like to donate for us to collect or to arrange a time for you to drop them to us.
We will also do the stalls too if anybody has any interest in them. Again free for you to hold the stall as a way of us giving back to all the help and support you give to us to keep Edith’s purse going.
We would really love to see as many of you there as possible this year. Bring your kids, grandkids, family, friends. We want you all to come relax and enjoy the evening with your family and friends.
Please keep your eyes peeled for updates. Hope to see you all there. Much love the barnards and family ######x

Hello, just wanted to let you know we have still been helping people through Edith’s purse.
A few weeks ago a family worker got in touch about a family that needed bunk beds. We got and delivered them. They were put together that evening and the kids slept in them that night.
2 days before Emma passed a family worker got in touch. A single mum with 2 young children had no money and the kids clothes were too small. We gave funds so the family worker could buy some for them.
Yesterday we gave a donation to a local school. So even though Emma is no longer with us her legacy and love will carry on. Without you we couldn’t do it. Thanks from the bottom of my heart xx.

It is with great sadness to inform you all that Emma passed away at home yesterday surrounded by her family. She didn’t go lightly and battled until the very end, she was not going to let cancer define her.

Thank you to all the family and friends who have constantly reached out to us and given their support. Although Emma didn’t get around to reading all the messages she knew how much she was loved.

I would like to take the time to thank the Alan Hudson centre who have closely supported not only Emma but all of us over the last 18 months. I don’t know what we would have done without their support, not to mention the Hospice at home carers and District nurses who also closely supported us these last few weeks. They worked tirelessly to make sure Emma was as comfortable as she could be.

Although Emma is no longer with us, I know she is deep within our hearts. May her legacy live on through all of us and Edith’s Purse. ❀️
