☺️ 🎶 We’re delighted to share that Wirksworth Music Centre has received a brand‑new gazebo, thanks to the support of CGI — one of the world’s largest IT and business consulting firms.

CGI are proud to support and sponsor local community groups and sports clubs and after being nominated by one of our parents, we’re thrilled to benefit from their community scheme. The gazebo will be a huge help at our outdoor concerts, rehearsals and events ☺️ 🎶

🌼🎶 Spring Concerts 2026 — A Wonderful Celebration of Music!

This Easter we had a fantastic celebration of the hard work from the start of the year, with two brilliant Spring Concerts, showcasing the talent and enthusiasm of our young musicians.

From recorder rags, string grooves, guitar classics and our uplifting choir in Matlock Bath, to beautiful performances of Ni**od, Mahler’s Adagietto, Bach’s Double Concerto and music from The Lion King, plus Ticket to Ride, at Anthony Gell School, our players filled both venues with confidence, teamwork and joy. We’re so proud of everything they have achieved this term.

A huge thank‑you to all parents, carers and supporters — your encouragement makes these moments possible.

🎶 😊 Young Music Makers takes place every Saturday at 9am during term time and is the perfect introduction to music for budding young musicians to learn the basics through play with fun, games and laughter. As we begin a new year of music-making, we’ve been looking back at these wonderful moments from our Christmas Concerts 2025 🎄🎶 What a brilliant way it was to end the year!

Our young musicians performed a wonderful mix of festive and classical music, from Walking in the Air and Somewhere in My Memory to Fantasia for Christmas, Midnight Sleigh Ride, Jingle Bells and even Bach’s Air on a G String. The concerts were full of energy, confidence and festive spirit.

We’re so proud of everyone involved and excited for another year of music ahead.

The new term starts on Saturday 10 January for most groups, Monday 12 January for Guitar & Ukulele and Tuesday 13 Jan for the Youth Choir.

New students are always welcome — if you’re thinking about joining us in 2026, we’d love to hear from you!

It's Wirksworth Festival this weekend and, thanks to MusicWirks, we're really pleased to be joining in as part of Wirksworth Festival, Music in Church Walk. You'll be able to enjoy music from some of our fabulous young musicians outside St Mary's Church on Saturday 13 September between 11am and 12pm. We can't wait!! 😊 🎶

A packed and widely varied programme of live music for Wirksworth Festival Art & architecture Trail 13th & 14th Sept.
