In honour of men’s mental health awareness month this June, read this poster to remind yourselves and others that it is okay for a man to speak up about their emotions and how they feel!
It’s vital that we reduce the stigma around men’s mental health; they feel just as well as everyone else!

⭐️Speak up, reduce stigma, be there for eachother.
⭐️Make the world a better place for everyone.
⭐️Remind eachother that you are not alone.

It's been a busy week for St John Ambulance Hampshire and Isle of Wight following the incredible honour of St John Ambulance being chosen as the Mayor of Wi******er's Chosen Charity for the year. 💚

On Wednesday, our County Comissioner, Fizz; County Fundraising and Priory Officer, Ian; and Cadet Sergeant Ryley attended the Wi******er City Council 827th Mayor Making Ceremony, where Ryley was offically appointed as the Mayor's Cadet for the next year.

Today, we were proud to attend the Mayor's Mattins Service at Wi******er Cathedral, where Ryley took part in the civic procession alongside local dignatries and community representatives. During this service, the County Commissioner took part in reading a prayer.

You can watch the full livestream of the service via the Wi******er Cathedral YouTube channel.

☀️ The Met Office has today issued an Amber Heat Health Alert for this weekend and into next week, with temperatures expected to exceed 30°C across much of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Hot weather can affect anyone, but older people, young children, and those with underlying health conditions are particularly at risk. Please remember to:

💧 Stay hydrated
🧴 Wear sunscreen
🕶️ Avoid prolonged time in direct sunlight during peak hours
🏠 Keep homes cool where possible
👥 Check in on vulnerable friends, neighbours, and relatives

Our volunteers and teams will continue supporting communities across the counties during the warmer weather. Stay safe and look after one another.

Today (10 May), two of our cadet volunteers, as well as two adult volunteers from the St John Ambulance Central Hampshire Network, attended Andover Leisure Centre to cover the Five Nations Roller Derby.

It was an intense day. The first game was where the Vendetta Vixens won 207-125 points against Suffolk Roller Derby.

The second match saw the Oxford Roller Derby (Screaming Spires) emerge victorious over the Basingstoke Bullets Roller Derby with a score of 67–302.

Wishing all our Hampshire and Isle of Wight followers a very Happy Easter!

However you choose to celebrate, we hope your day is filled with joy and happiness. 💚

Although not all NHS services are available this Easter weekend, many are.

Remember to only call 999 if you, or someone you're with, is suffering an immediately life-threatening or serious emergency.

Make the right call this Easter.

Today we visited the Portsmouth Unit to show you insights on what happens on at a Youth unit meeting, at Portsmouths meeting, cadets for St John Ambulance learnt the importance of the recovery position and the acronyms DRABC and SAMPLE to assist them on events.

Below are some pictures of the process of learning the recovery position from the cadets point of view and some pictures of the cadets trying on each other.

Towards the end of the session we even got a group photo and of course a funny one!
