💜🔆Week 3 of the summer holidays 🔆💜
🎢 16 Young carers enjoyed a fun filled day at @paultonspark ! We even met a dragon! 🐲
😎21 young carers came fora chill out session, filled with games, crafts and activities all designed to build peer connection and giving them a chance to chill and be young people.
🌞 Due to the heat we had to rearrange our final activity of the week for our lower group young carers. We had planned a picnic, rounders and park trip, but with the mercury reaching 35c we took things inside for ice cream sundae's, air conditioning, crafts and games🍦
We cant believe how quickly the summer is going! Looking forward to next week 🎪🏹⛳

🔆Week 2 of our activities calendar!🔆
🏹 9 young carers from the Upper group to learn archery skills - thanks to AC Delco Bowmen for hosting us.
🎢 16 young carers from middle and upper group went to Thorpe park for some thrills and fun.
🎨Rounding off the week with 14 young carers chilling out with a crafting session at thank you for sharing your space and skills with us!
💜We try and do a bit of everything here to make the summer filled with fun and laughter!💜

We have been having lots of fun over the holidays so far...
🌳Young carers went for a day out at enjoying time together in nature.
🎨18 young people went to and brought to life their own creations!
🥘We also welcomed who ran a life skills class with young carers where they learnt to make a Thai Green curry from scratch Yummy!
Thank you to all the great supporters over the holidays to make sure the holidays are filled with fun memories!

💜Starting the summer holiday activities strong with our Summer Family Evening at the wonderful !
The invite was to all young carers and their family members, including new young carers who will be joining the exploration programme in September!
The event welcomed nearly 70 young carers and family members for a evening of soft play, Pizza and reptile showcase. 🍕🦎
A chance for the families to connect with each other, young carers to have some free play and for the purple people to be big kids!
Thank you and for your generosity and kindness, the night was a huge success!

😎🌞Summer 2026🌞😎 For some, a time for relaxing, having fun, and meeting friends.

However, a recent study found that 8 out of 10 young carers feel lonely during the holidays. Sometimes, the caring role's responsibility can increase for the young carer.

That's why we jam-pack the weeks with our activities calendar; watch this space for all the fun we have with the young carers on the project. 🎢🌷🎨

15 young carers visited the for an exclusive evening with similar projects. The evening was filled with inspiration and entertainment, featuring a fantastic flying display with birds flying exhilaratingly close. The children cheered excitedly as the birds flew over their heads! The hot dogs and cake were delicious, and the YCs were impressed by the magician. Can't wait for next year!

💜End of term is upon us here at WDYC💜
At the end of each term we ask the young carers to reflect and evaluate the programme and also ask them to describe the project in 3 words. Last night we looked at who they could go to for support over the summer, most of the young carers experience a increase in their caring role over the school holidays, so we discussed who they could go to for support if needed. They made some lovely key rings to remind them of those people. We also wanted to capture the young carers voice and what services mean the most to them....voting with buttons and cups!
A wonderful term has been had and I think everyone is looking forward to our fun packed summer holiday activity calendar! 🏹🎢🎨🌷☀🏖

☀️🎶TakeNOTE summer concert raised an incredible £500 for Wi******er & District Young Carers🎶☀️

Each of their concerts support a different charity and we were so pleased they reached out to support us. It was an amazing evening of acapella singing and poetry. Thank you to all involved & those who attended 💜
