🌍 From Antarctica to the Arctic Circle... and still flying the flag for Trinity Wi******er!

A huge thank you to our long-standing supporter Richard Spalding, who recently returned from a trip to the west coast of Greenland, north of the Arctic Circle, where he proudly promoted Trinity Wi******er.

This follows a similar adventure in Antarctica in 2023, showing that wherever Richard travels, he takes Trinity with him!

Richard has supported Trinity for many years through volunteering, fundraising, taking part in our Big Sleep Out events, and helping collect essential donations for people experiencing homelessness.

We’re incredibly grateful for his continued support and for sharing these fantastic photos with us.

Thank you, Richard, for being such a wonderful ambassador for Trinity Wi******er. 🩵

đź”” Hannah Scott, CEO of Trinity Wi******er, responds to earlier announcement from Andy Burnham:

“We welcome the Prime Minister’s commitment to ensure that everyone sleeping rough is offered accommodation this winter. During periods of extreme weather, the risks to people’s health and wellbeing become even more acute, so ensuring people have a safe place to stay is vital.”

“However, rough sleeping is not just a winter issue. Lasting change comes from preventing homelessness, providing the right support, and creating sustainable routes into settled housing.”

“At Trinity Wi******er, we are proud to work alongside Wi******er City Council and our partners through the Preventing Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy, and we remain committed to helping ensure that people can access both immediate support and long-term solutions to end homelessness for good.”

“Our ambition is to help create a future where far fewer people need emergency homelessness accommodation, and where organisations like Trinity are increasingly recognised and funded for the tenancy sustainment and specialist support services that help people keep their homes, maintain their independence and prevent homelessness from recurring.”

“Emergency accommodation saves lives, but it is tenancy sustainment and ongoing support that prevent homelessness from returning. We would like to see greater statutory investment in charities such as Trinity Wi******er, that help people keep their homes, because ending homelessness is not just about getting someone through the door of a property, it is about making sure they never need to return to the streets.”

“We welcome this investment and look forward to playing our part in making this ambition a reality for people experiencing homelessness in our community.”
