CHANGE IN DIRECTION!

Dear everyone,

We have changed in direction and we are now an independent charity organisation run by Lewis Hocknull. We still work and follow all regulations for offering support as dictated by the council.

We are still offering support, but we have removed some from our list and updated it. The updated list will slowly start growing on our pages and websites.

Again to use our services, please contact us and book and appointment to be assessed. We do have forms you Will need to complete before we make our decision. If you need any support with the following then contacting us may be your biggest bet if refused from the council.

Support we now offer as of 1st September 2024.

- Food parcels (posted to you by dpd only) (3 days delivery)

- Direct payments sent to banks. We offer £20 to single claims and £50 to joint claims and £70 to family 4 claims. These are sent every 30th of the month.

- Local support with transport, clubs, council work and local asbo complaints.

- Our director has decided to offer a new service which he is implementing himself. SOON TO BE OPENED - Wigan Community Mental Health hub. This will be open by the 20th September 2024 and run by Lewis Hocknull himself. We have no other trained mental health professionals at the moment so it may take a while to get an appointment if there is a queue. We offer phone, facetime and in person mental health appointments.

BACK TO SCHOOL!!

Parents, we know you are all glad that your young ones are finally going back to school and for some starting a new education. But we know for some this can be a hard time, especially financially. So we are here to be able to help and support you with the back to school costs.

Today we have officially opened our back to school grant scheme which gives eligible families a pack of different essential items. You are able to claim this by messaging our WhatsApp and one of our advisors which support you with this.

Back to school grant scheme offers:

- £500 voucher towards school uniform and school supplies.

- Free school meals for your kids for the full year. Pending a new application for next school year in 2025.

- £100 payout voucher for the children to enjoy in school activities.

- £350 twice a year to allow kids the access to wider education like rugby, football, boxing teams.

- Free prescriptions for your children.

- Free in school health care and physiology assessment in case your child may be in need of a behavioral plan. We will cover other behavioral expenses once the behavioral physiologist makes his assessment. A Copy will be required to send to us or we can request this directly from the school.

If you need extra support with your kids mental health and wellbeing during there time at school. Contact us as we offer outer education therapies and groups which work effectively for kids with mental health issues. We also support behavioral plans and will pay expenses like fines, additional school uniform, physiology treatment and more.

If your kids are required to attend a specialist mental health or behavioral unit, we have a separate team of people working to support this. So you can still contact us and ask to speak to the CAB unit. Children's Associated behavioral Unit Team. These can support further.

COMMUNITY UPDATE:

Today, we have started our assessment programme. You can book your assessment today on our booking page which can be found on any social media.

How does our assessment work?

You will be called by one of our advisors and you will be asked questions in which you will respond. We will note the response down. The assessment is then passed to our third party assesors who will make an evaluation weather you need Support or not. We will be in contact with the decision.

Book your appointment with Wigan Community Support Hub

SPOLIER UPDATE:

Wigan Community Support Hub has a special update they wish to share with the community. We are currently underway creating our first set of community vouchers. We offer 3 types of community vouchers and these can be claimed at the moment as an emergancy grant. We have started up a new scheme called the Wigan support grant. This is ran by the Wigan Support Team. You are able to claim this grant once every 3 months. (Excepetions do apply).

The grants we offer are free and you are not required to pay any of these grants back but by applying you accept to undergo a written assessment to explain why you require the voucher which is assessed by a third party and there decision is explained to us and we will notify yourselves. This process will take around 1-2 weeks. Here are the grants we will soon offer.

2 PERSONS GRANT;

This is offered to people in a couple or living as a 2. We also offer this grant to individuals living on there own. If this is your case this is the grant to apply for. We do not deduct any money for single person. We do not recommend this grant for 3 or more people.

Total amount: £300

4 PERSONS GRANT;

This is offered to families of 3 upwards. You can not claim this grant as a individual and we will conduct an assessment and you will be required to provide ID of all 3 residence living under your roof.

Total amount: £500

The grant scheme will begin at the start of September 2024 but you will start to see it being added to catalogues and the website. Be advised you will be declined if you try and access a grant before September. The grants will end around December and reasseded.

Our community advisory team are also working on another scheme which involves interest free loans with no credit check available directly from the Wigan Support Hub, but I will allow the finance team to explain more soon.

Welcome to Wigans Support Hub.

Our team are hard at work today organising and packing our 2 different types of food parcels. We have our healthier option of a food parcel or we have our original food parcels. All our parcels usually include

- Tinned food
- Bread
- Long Life Milk.

We will be getting our food parcels out to the customers we serve on Thursday and Friday. Last refferal orders are today so please make sure to make a refferal or ask for help with food today as we might have some spare.
