Absolutely disgusting these daffodils were planted on Wick Green by Kim Oaks , Chris Jackman and many volunteers for residents to enjoy whilst walking along/around Wick Green and yet certain elements felt it to be ok just to pull them up and throw them on the ground to die, this is sheer vandalism and destruction. Chris and I were on the green yesterday planting young trees, doing a bit of litter picking and checking the orchard trees when I witnessed couple of women with a couple of kids allowing them to pick the daffodils until they saw us and called the kids over to them and proceeded to Salcott Crescent. Thank you to two of my neighbours for collecting the flowers also planting the bulbs which were also pulled out.

It’s strange that the leader of the council can announce that Waitrose is coming to Wickford and yet when a formal public question to the full council for 19th March is asked regarding the supermarket it gets rejected.

🚧 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐲 – 𝐁𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 🚧

Work has now started on installing bollards along the verge on Tresco Way and it is good to see this improvement progressing.

Residents contacted me about vehicles parking on the grass, causing damage and blocking access to properties. I raised these concerns with the Town Council, who agreed to fund planters on part of the road, and to the Local Highways Panel at Essex County Council. The scheme was then approved.

I visited the road today as work began and will continue to monitor progress until it is completed.

There may be some short term disruption while the installation takes place, but it should not last long. Once finished, the verge will be better protected and access to properties kept clear.
