Our friendly and inclusive choir is open to everyone aged 13 and over and is led by Emma Skipper, known to many locally as Mrs Skipper.

Our Wednesday rehearsals will be held on:
7 October | 4 November | 18 November
2 December | 16 December | 6 January

This autumn, Exploring Faith offers a welcoming space to consider some fascinating—and sometimes challenging—biblical passages. Together, we will explore questions of slavery, women, sexuality, race, disability and neurodiversity, asking how these texts might speak to life today.
You do not need any previous knowledge, a church background or settled beliefs. Come with your questions, listen to different perspectives and join the conversation.

Everyone is welcome.

Meet the Director of our new Community Choir!

We are delighted to announce that Emma Skipper has been appointed as the Director of the new Community Choir based in St Luke's, Whyteleafe, subject to the completion of the remaining safer recruitment checks.
As a former music teacher at Whyteleafe School, Emma (known as Mrs Skipper) already has strong connections with our local community. She is passionate about bringing people together through music and singing, building confidence and enjoying being part of something together.
Our Community Choir will be for everyone—no auditions, no previous singing experience and no particular faith background required. It will simply be a welcoming place to sing, make friends and share the joy of music.
More information about joining the choir will be coming soon. We cannot wait to get started at the end of September!

"Recently I watched an old film, The Sacrifice (1986), directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. It is a beautiful but unsettling film, told through long takes, silence and stillness. It also raises some surprisingly difficult questions about faith. The central character, Alexander, promises God that he will give up his home, his family and even his speech if the world is saved from catastrophe. His promise sounds deeply sacrificial. But there is a problem: his sacrifice does not affect only him. He makes the decision alone, while those he loves also have to bear the consequences.
That left me wondering: Is something automatically holy simply because it is costly?..."
