A heads up for those who like to be seasonally prepared...

Yes yes we know most of you are still in holiday mode - but while it’s a little cooler and you might be dipping into your socials, we wanted to tell you the next deadline!
The “winter season 😉 “ Trail takes place on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November.
Yes I know, ages away. Thing is, we have heaps of work to do to make it happen - and that starts NOW!

Deadline for completed applications is Monday 14th September (which is soon)

Wonderful Emergency Services Day at Whitstable Harbour yesterday. Here’s your top ten:
1. Revival need a little help organising their community day on Cornwallis Circle on the 5th. If you can donate a prize for the tombola or barrel of booze please drop something into Ross at the Offy, Erin at Gatefield Sounds or the cafe themselves.
2. Tickets for the SOS Whitstable event with the CEO of Southern Water are now available. https://www.ticketsource.com/booking/select/nxqbzvmqvdjo
3. Next weekend is Boing, a firm family favourite at the University of Kent
4. If you are in town this week pop into the Waterloo Centre to see the new tapestry proudly on show. The tapestries, initially made by the Oyster sewers at the Umbrella depict the history of town in sections. Local resident June has made one for 2000-2025
5. Radfall Road is closed up until the 26th for water repair works (update it’s reopened)
6. If you have kids going to school by bus remember that the first week of September 1st-11th is free for all kids using Stagecoach, allowing them to pick up their bus passes at school
7. If you have a loved one struggling with their sight, Kent Association for the Blind is running its next pop up at Chestfield Medical Centre, 10-3 on the 18th September
8. Canterbury City Council is consulting on its new rough sleeping and homeless strategy. https://online1.snapsurveys.com/Interview/
9. The Friends of Kent and Canterbury hospital have a charity night at the Quay Shed on the 28th. Tickets for the Mamma Mia event are £15
10. If you know anyone interested in getting into museums, The Beaney is looking to hire a paid apprentice for this year
