A huge thank you to and the Employability Fund for helping us fund new clothing for our learners! 👔👗

Walking into an interview with confidence starts with feeling good about how you look. Thanks to this support, our learners now have smart, interview-ready outfits to wear and practise in as they prepare for the next step in their journey.

We’re so grateful to Cumberland Council for backing our learners and helping to remove another barrier to employment. 💚

Serving up new skills! 🛍️

Our Customer Service course gives learners the chance to put their skills into practice in a real working environment. Here’s Jacob on the till in our charity shop, building confidence, handling customers and gaining hands-on experience that employers value.

Every course at Goodlives is about taking the next step towards work. Well done, Jacob! 👏

🌿 Volunteers at the Garden of Hope and Reflection 🌿

A huge thank you to our volunteers from Nuclear Waste Services, who spent the day with us at Goodlives. Here’s what they had to say: 💚

“We chose to volunteer with Goodlives because of the fantastic work the charity does across West Cumbria, supporting people to overcome barriers and creating spaces that promote wellbeing and community. We were proud to help maintain the Garden of Hope and Reflection, and in return got just as much from the day, enjoying the chance to work outdoors, meet new colleagues and see the immediate impact of our efforts. It was hard work, but we found the experience rewarding, meaningful and a wonderful cause to support.”

Thank you for all your hard work! 🙌🌱

Employer visit: Tesco Whitehaven 🛒

Our learners had a brilliant day out at Tesco Whitehaven, and here’s what they had to say:

💬 “A positive experience with a good atmosphere”
💬 “Really good”
💬 “A wide range of departments”
💬 “Found out about the new Whoosh delivery”

Shannon, the Community Champion, showed us around the various departments and introduced us to staff who were all positive and highly motivated. It made for a really pleasant visit, and every one of our learners went on to apply for the Christmas vacancies! 🎄

A massive thank you to Shannon, Sandra and all the team at Whitehaven Tesco. You showcased your store exceptionally well and it was a pleasure to visit. PS, thanks for the cookies! 🍪

Thanks also to Mary for organising the visit.

The wonderful Kath from Little Arms-Top House, has been collecting for Goodlives! Thanks to the generosity of the locals, the pot has been filling up nicely.

Thank you so much to everyone who added their change. Every little bit makes a real difference to what we do here.

Thanks from everyone at Goodlives! 🌱
