From campfires to spacewalks, it just shows how powerful those early experiences can be. Scouting and Girlguiding aren’t just about badges—they build confidence, leadership, resilience, and the courage to dream BIG.

Who knows? The skills you learn today could take you all the way to the Moon and back one day ✨

Today is World Scout Scarf Day!

This year, I had the privilege of celebrating it a little differently — right in the middle of an incredible week hosting our new friends from Hildesheim, Germany, with Axe District Scouts!

Scouting has taken me to places I never expected, introduced me to people from all over the world, and pushed me to grow in ways I never imagined.

My scarves have seen a lot. They’ve been with me through leadership roles, countless muddy camps, international adventures, early mornings, late nights, and unforgettable moments.

But more than anything, they’ve been there while I’ve met some of the most inspiring and incredible people I’ve ever known.

These scarves have become a large part of my identity — and always will be. I wear them with pride, and I always will. ❤️⚜️✨

Happy Founders and Thinking Day! ⚜️

Every year, on the 22nd of February Scouts & Guides from all over the world unite to celebrate the legacy of our founders. From local communities to adventures worldwide, as a movement we continue to support, inspire and create a better world together!

This movement has given me so many incredible and unique opportunities and skills that I wouldn’t have got elsewhere. From a tiny little girl seeing my local cub pack playing games at the local park from my bedroom window and dragging my dad over to ask if I can join to the woman I am today, I owe everything to this movement! It’s an honor to hold the roles I have where I can give back!

Wishing all my Scouting and Guiding friends from all over the world the best day!

3. Meeting Dwayne Fields again at the Outdoor Expo and just hoping he was gonna become our Chief Scout (🚨Spoiler alert, he did! 🚨)

5. St George’s Day Parade at Windsor Castle & finally getting to meet Bear 🏰
6. SPL night at scouts ft. Hotdogs 🌭
7. Gifted a jambo badge by the Cornish contingent leaders (it glows in the dark 🫨)
8. Presented with my 5 Years of Service 🫡
9. Crossbow practice at Shooting Comp 🔫
10. Reuniting with my bestie Graham the Duck at Awards Evening 🦆

A couple members of our Axe District Network Alex & Jay have been selected to attend the 16th World Scout Moot in Portugal in the Summer of 2025! They have planned a fundraising quiz night in support of their journey!

The World Scout Moot is an international event held every 4 years that promotes inter-cultural exchange, understanding and friendship. The event plans for 5,000 participants and 1,000 IST members.

📅 Saturday, 11th January 2025
🕗 Doors Open: 19:15 | Quiz Starts: 19:30
📍 1st Milton Scout Hut
Drysdale Close, Milton, Weston-super-Mare, BS22 8HH

Tickets: £5 per person
Team Size: 3–5 people
Tickets are limited, so don’t wait too long - once they’re gone, they’re gone!

* Parking: Unfortunately, parking is not available at the venue, so please plan accordingly and park appropriately.
* Snacks & Drinks: Available to purchase during the evening.
* Raffle: We'll be selling tickets for some fantastic prizes!

What a night! - Axe District Scouts Winter Ball 2024

I would like to thank our gorgeous venue Weston Museum, all the local establishments who donated raffle prizes and to everyone who supported our event by buying a ticket!

But most importantly I need to thank my partners in crime, Graham, Emily & Zoe! From Day 1 when I planted the idea into your heads to now Day 642 (+1), we have worked tirelessly to make it work! It wasn’t the smoothest ride, but made it and what a wonderful night we had!

On Saturday afternoon I was lucky enough to be invited along to represent Axe District Scouts at Weston Youth Council’s Wellness Day at the YMCA!

I spent the afternoon chatting with some amazing young people about all things Scouting and about how Scouting has a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of members of the movement. We even made some paracord people together!

Scouting has had a huge impact on my mental health and wellbeing throughout my 14 years in the movement. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without it and I really think people should know how great it is as a Youth Organisation!

Axe District Awards Evening 2024 ⚜️

A lovely evening spent celebrating the achievements of just some of the wonderful volunteers from Axe District! As well as learning about all things international coming up for some members of Axe District Network.

I was reunited with Graham the Duck (we go way back 😉) and Alex & I were sent on some important duties to greet the High Sheriff! 😎

We also got a very special video message from our new Chief Scout Dwayne Fields! (See comments 👀)

What a wonderful weekend supporting and assisting on the Crossbow Range! It was so great to see and speak to so many of our young people and adult volunteers from Axe!
